Don't know if they wanted it or rather agreed to it.

Feels like 2018 all over again. But at least then there was a bonafide pass rushers in Bosa that was a target. We won't be as bad, record-wise, so we'll end up with a mid pick and a lost season.

Blame the players, they always seem to try and shorten OTAs and training camp at their own peril

Yep. Less exposure meant less chance of getting Covid. Owners only wanted it to make money they don't have to share with other owners. Either way Covid is what got the pre season cancelled.
And the nfl could careless about these guys who are injured. They just worried about that t.v. money. Especially being that no big name qb's have been hurt.

I've always been a fan of a 4 game preseason, etc. Not sure if this was the reason for the injuries..but yeah

Greg Williams is a dirty little hoe. Jets were coming with late hits

I'll watch when I get to see the game, but it sure sounds like a Greg Williams hit job.
As for the NFL leadership, Goodell and the owners? You guys should all be ashamed of yourselves. Morons, all.
Nothing will happen to him. Not after the 2011 season after he ordered to injured so many 49er players during the playoff game.

Here in Paso listened to this colossal disaster of a really good W...which is wiped out by the decimated roster at game's end.
NFL Covid season will not be remembered for the virus and all it caused...death, disability, destruction of our economy, destruction of some parts of society...but rather for the horrendous mistake of thinking they could skip OTAs, decr the amount of TC and other practices, skip the PS...and then play football. Welp, that all happened, but some idiot, probably the commish, saw the $$$ going away and gave his ok to the owners desires for a season.
But at what cost? Today on radio game they continually mentioned who else lost players today (jets lost some too), but Saquon Barkley is out for NYG, and the other NFL teams are all picking up lots of injures, altho they didn't know how serious. Is this really what the NFL intended? Why do we usually have such a long OTA, extra workouts, TC, PS every yr.? To make money for owners? Well yes, but real reason is because it takes a lot of training, coordination, weight, sprints, more conditioning, and practice, practice, practice...to get ready for the 16 game slog.
It's not like MLB. This is big boy stuff and these amazing athletes deserve all the time they need to get ready for what must be the most vicious sport in the world , yr after yr. And now look...9ers decimated after 2 games. And we aren't the only ones. Radio announcers said this is league wide and they have never seen a yr with such league wide injuries.
So congrats NFL, you got your season....damn you.

It's the matter of the football physical staff in the first part to get the players more injury-prone, not that of the NFL.

It makes it so hard to be a fan when two games into the season the 49ers have lost their top QB, ER, CB, TE, WR and RB to injuries, some for the year.
This has solidified for me that even if the 49ers win the SB again it'll never be better than the 1994 season was for me. The style of the game has changed too much, and it's all about who isn't decimated by injury by the end of the year more than it is about bringing talent on to the roster.
What's the point of building a championship compeeting roster if those guys barely play?

Played football (as a scrub ) for 4 yrs in hi school, and after moving to the Argentine for 4 mos, returned to US and got a scholarship playing soccer at U of ILL. No joke. There is no similarity at all between the beating one takes in football and what one takes in soccer. There is zero truth in soccer being as hard on players as NFL football.
