I like the tight end Woerner too. He is already a great blocker and the report on him is that he has good hands. Playing at Georgia where they rarely throw to the tight end didn't give him a chance to show what he can do. Kind of like Rathman at Nebreaska. He's not fast but he doesn't need to be. He could be used in the 2 tight end set and line him up against the pass rushing end since he's a good blocker. That would free up Kittle to get out in his patterns instead of staying in to block. Then after Woerner blocks his man he can slip out in the flat for the short safety valve pass or cross over for a short pass over the middle. Might also be useful in the red zone. It's just one more tool in the box.

Well, I posted that he reminds me of Sanu in some ways after we drafted him, and we all know Grant reads this forum.

It probably isn't the least likely comparison either considering that Shanahan is the coach and Jennings is a big, thick-bodied possession WR. I think for most, Sanu would be a natural fit when discussing similarities although I watched Sanu in college and he was never as physical as Jennings. This dude is on a whole other level when it comes to that. Lynch said that he believes that Jennings could play safety and from the time I first watched him play, he reminded me of a strong safety that just happened to be playing WR for some reason.
Most 7th rounders are lottery tickets. You don't expect them to work, and if they do, then its like a freebie really. Jennings has a good shot if he can keep his mind right. Few WR's play with anything near the physicality that he possesses and its something that can throw a lot of DBs off their games. Nowadays they are using to seeing these quick, smaller guys, not so much a dude that plays WR the way Charles Oakley played PF in the NBA. I want it to work for him, this is the perfect scheme for his talents. He can make himself a lot of money playing in this offense. Shanahan will get him open but he's got to make the most of his opportunities and if he does, the 49ers could have a really good one on their hands.

Depends on who you trust. PFF had him as a late 1st rounder. Most had him anywhere from Round 2 to Round 5. I think in the 7th he's tremendous value, even if he doesn't work out. I'm excited for him but I've also been here before with another physical, big WR that came out of Tennessee in Da'Rick Rogers. Rogers had amazing talent combined with outstanding size. I still think he could have been a very good NFL WR but he never got his mind right, had off the field issues that bounced him from Tennessee and then had further issues in the NFL so I'm a bit wary but hoping that Jennings can grow up in this locker room with a supportive environment and some no-nonsense leaders that are all about winning games.

A few things about Jauan needs clarification here. Jauan didn't have a problem with Butch Jones. Jones got fired and Brady Hoke took over as interim. Jauan absolutey hates Vanderbilt. He asked to play the last game of the year against them after being injured for the season in game 1. Brady Hoke said no. There were words and Jauan was asked to leave the building. He went live on IG with an admitted immature response where he called Hoke some pretty bad things. Hoke dismisses him. Pruitt gets hired and asked Jauan to do several things to earn his way back on the team. He missed Spring practice.
He's not a bad kid or has any off the field problems. Not a "head case" as many of you have suggested. What he is is the most competitive player I've ever seen. That drive to win is exactly the cause of the event with Hoke. Jeremy Pruitt loves Jauan. Pruitt's wife was to give birth to their daughter a few months ago. When thinking of names, his wife suggested Jennings. Trey Wingo made a comment that Jennings had a problem with two staffs. No idea what he's talking about. Jauan is one of the most beloved players in Tennessee History.
Jauan will do anything to win and never quit on his teammates. Unlike someone else we know.

Hmmm, really struggles to generate separation. Really poor combine numbers, and I don't mean just the 40 time. Sub 30 inch vert, sub 10 foot broad jump.

Says he doesn't see him getting moved to TE. I figured they may give it a shot. Looks like he could be very useful in the RZ, for blocking as much as catching.

Why would they move him to TE? Dude is already slow as a slug at 215 lbs, so he's not going to get bigger. TE's have to block guys like Nick Bosa. That's a terrible idea.
Big slot. That's it.
