I said "the player you hope is your 3rd best WR" ... as in the team would like to have to WRs better than Jennings. I didn't say he was the 3rd best. You left out the hope.

Purdy being 3rd string was immaterial. He got his chance because of injury, he kept it because he was good ... he got more chances in his 2nd year because he was the starter all year. If he was good in his first year and just as good the 2nd year as long as they don't have someone better he's going to start. He doesn't have to get better to keep the job until someone better comes along. I think he has gotten better but it's in the margins. Your contention was the getting more chances makes you better, or that you can't get better without more chances, and there is a LONG list of players who have got more chances early in their careers only to prove they don't deserve them, and of players who got few chances and then took the job and kept it.

Ya know, I was all aboard the give sone extra cash and incentives train but in light of the Pearsall news, maybe a short extension isn't such a bad idea. Extend through 2027.maybe? Doesn't seem like it will be a big deal with Pearsall, but it's concerning. Id rather WR not be a high priority in 2026.
