That's the bottom line of it all right there

IMO paying BA wasn't a waste of money if the idea was to move off Deebo and BA never got hurt like he did.

You and I have respectfully disagreed on Aiyuk since last year. We have had receivers have career years on their contract year which has inflated their worth which in turn hurt us. I'm to a point where unless it's Jefferson or Chase level receiver you just trade em or let em walk. It's not a position lacking in draft prospects.

You realize most of Aiyuk's money can be dropped from the cap fairly cheap right? His cap number doesn't jump until 2027. His deal's big number was more about marketing than reality.

I was in favor of paying Aiyuk at the time. I will admit, I was wrong about that. It has turned out to be a bad investment. Part of that was bad luck. There's a chance to still salvage part of that, I suppose.

That being said, I don't think past bad decisions should completely influence future ones. I think it is reasonable to add on 2 years to his current contract and give him a raise. He deserves it. Add on 30M/2 years to his current deal and that puts him in SF until he is 30 and it hardly breaks the bank.
wow. Smh @ Jennings.
These dang WRs....

100%. We have to but please don't let it turn to camp distract which is here in a second. Give a two year but JJ probably wants more.

only WR who is proven, healthy and not facing a suspension. double his salary to $15M and add a year. the team should know what they have in Pearsall, Cowing and others by the end of next season. seek trades after knowing where the roster is at that time.

The wr depth chart is a mess, its really tragic. Just pay jennings and move on, thats what you get for backing yourself into a corner.

Said it at thr beginning of the offseason we should be able to get him resigned in 14-16 range. We shouldn't even have got to this point. Should have been done as soon as Brock's got done. This should have been one of the easier contracts done.

3 year extension keeps Him, BA, Kittle and Pearsall together for 4 next years. That would render the whole Purdy needs weapons argument moot. As he would still have his weapons. Revisit that argument in 2029

I don't think the Niners would get much for Jennings. He's a nice piece but do other teams see hm the same way we do. He's a #3 receiver on this team when Aiyuk comes back. If he's asking for $15 million per then that's a lot for a #3 guy. Most 49ers that leave for more money don't do as well with another team. Kyle's offense is definitely player friendly.

He is better than Aiyuk and who will be the #2?

The 49ers don't know what JJ can do as a starter at X ... JJ doesn't know what he'll do as a starter at X. What we do know is that it's fairly likely when Robinson comes back someone is going to be replaced.

It is in no way certain JJ is going to be worth $15M a year.
