She wants to blame everything under the sun that isn't Brock Purdy. It's kinda swifty-esque...

I'm not shocked we didn't resign JJ but I'm surprised he hasn't been picked up. I think he would be an excellent fit for the Chargers. He's Harbaugh's kinda tough dude and will know McDaniels Offense. It all comes down to $ though, idk what JJ is asking or is being offered, but I am surprised he hasn't been picked up.

My guess is that he wants to be a primary option in an offense, and paid like one, but I don't have any proof to that. I can see teams wanting to sign him to be a 2nd/3rd option - I think that is where JJ fits best.

Hope the dude finds a landing spot that pays him well.
He'll find a team, after the draft, once the comp picks aren't affected.?
It seems like we've given up on the idea he'll stay. It's a long shot but as a fan base we should rally behind him to return

I think that's part of it. I also think teams want to see who/what they land in the draft before using cap space on a guy of Jennings caliber. JJ will be 29 this season and isn't really seen as a #1, possibly #2 on some teams. He will require at least 10M+ in cap space. i really thought Tennessee would get him, they still might.

Titans, Bills, Chargers would all be good landing spots for him. We also dont know what he's asking price wise - that may be playing a part in him not being signed.

Was one of my favorite niners. Just showed up and busted ass

We'll miss his Impact In the run game and on 3rd downs for sure.

did he sign somewhere? why are we talking in the past tense?

Just talking in the whats most likely to happen type of way.
I don't understand why people are blaming the front office for not making a stupid deal. Even the deal Jennings rejected would be too much now.

I've always thought that doing what Miami/Cincy etc did was dumb. I don't think Jefferson should have been the highest non-Qb paid player either.

allocating that much money to a WR(s), especially when you have massive holes elsewhere, is dumb. At least cincy has a top notch qb (when healthy). Minnesota and Miami were dumb, IMO.

Jefferson is a stud but look at him when they don't have a reliable qb? Should the highest paid non-qb be that dependent on another player and scheme?

I prefer that kind of money to go to guys who can game wreck - Chris jones, Aaron Donald, Myles Garrett, Trent Williams etc.

I think the market is correcting itself and those teams that overpaid, like jags did with Christian Kirk, are going back to reasonable prices. I'm all for players making their money, but I also look at it through the lens of tryin to build a contender.

I agree that is happening but to what extent, IDK.

In JJ's case, he is one of the best blocking WRs in the league, and was able to make some plays in an offense that designs players open as opposed to players getting open on their own. Hence, he had some decent numbers but at the end of the day, there are dozens of receivers that can make plays when put in the same situation, and who are also good blockers. The issue is; that kind of player isn't worth the money JJ is asking. He was truly created by the system rather than his talent.

I expect he will get signed after the draft but at a level that will humble him.

He's also not relatively young. Lol he'll be 29 this season. To drop $18-$20M for a guy who hasn't broke 1k yards and is pushing 30 would be a little wild.

There is a market for him. Hes a solid player - just needs to come to terms on price, is my guess.

JJ is gonna have to sign a 1-yrd deal for less than 10 millions.

Dude he would have had 1,000 yards if he didn't get into a fight. You know it too.

Read the tea leaves. Nobody wants JJ. He's not going to get a three year deal. With any team. He will not get a two year deal. With any team. He might get a two year contract where the second year is not guaranteed. Possibly. In reality, the best he can hope for is a one year deal. You seem to think he's something special. JJ thought so too. The lack of interest in his services is proof pudding positive that he's not all that.
I kind of feel sorry for him. Delusion.

I think as a unit Deebo, Aiyuk and Jennings got infected with a thought-virus. I think it's good that they are all going to be gone. I do like Jennings though. He's been a good player.
There comes a time when you have to move on and it seems to be that time for Jennings. The Niners needed to upgrade WR and they feel they have done that. As long as Kirk and Evans are healthy most of the season, they did do that. We'll see how the injury bug plays this year with an older WR core. I still feel the Niners will take a WR in the draft at some point, one that they feel will be able to step up at some point. Just remember, Shanahan doesn't like to play freshman receivers, they have too much to learn in their rookie years. If the Niners can get a WR that in the second year is truly contributing and not injured, that will be great. I still want to see what Pearsall can do IF he can play a full season with minimal injuries. Anyway, JJ was great when he was here, played with his heart and he feel he deserves more. However, the market will determine what he gets and so far it isn't what he thought it would be. I hope he gets what he wants in terms of money. Bottom line, it was time to move on from him in the Niners world.
