After that whole Aiyuk mess this just might end up in a trade.

He deserves a new deal tbh

Agree but what if he's demanding 20+ million?
Jennings was a Spencer Burford block away from winning SB MVP, and then followed it up with a 1,000 yard season. He has a right to ask to be paid like an important part of the team.

LOL his nickname is "3rd and Juaun". He's the guy who gets it done when it matters most. He is definitely the most important part of our passing game. Even Kittle is hot and cold based on where he's needed. Jennings is the only consistent WR on the roster. I guarantee you if he leaves our offense will have issues.

Literally that was the same s**t Bourne did previously.

BA in 2023 was 2nd in YPR and 2nd in YPT. 81.5% of his receptions lead to a first down or TD. He was 3rd in the league in converting 1st downs.

Love JJ and he showed up when it was needed. He isn't the most important person in our passing offense.
Perhaps we can conclude that whatever internal talks on an extension there may (or may not) have been have not gone so well.

Otherwise, why make this announcement through the MSSM?

If it was up to me I'd say bye. 👋

For sure. If he holds out let him. Stay home and sit on the couch until 2026.
Dude just got a new deal last year...

What's next purdy threatens to hold out for a new deal when he literally just signed one...

JJ is going to be made an example. Wr3 who just signed a deal the previous year... They will let him sit all year.

No one is saying he doesn't have a right….he does and the whole point is sometimes requesting a trade is part of the negotiations if the team isn't having good conversations.

Some people (not saying you) draw a line in the sand and say he can't do that and they're done with players like that which is dumb imo

Trading Jennings is the wrong move.

You can't pay everyone.

Damn it, I knew there couldn't be a drama free off-season lol I'd add 2 yrs to his contract and boost it to around 13-14 million annually, he deserves it in my eyes.
After the year he had last year and the fact that BA won't be available and Deebo is gone, I'd say pay him. He outplayed his contract big time. He's actually underpaid, and we need his veteran presence on the field with so many young WRs.

JJ is not a guy to be made an example of IMO. He's one of the ultimate team guys and why I don't believe he will actually sit out when the games happen. He's got too much to gain and his competitive nature is too much.

And while your point is valid, he signed a 2 year deal last year, which means he's entering the last year of that contract. How many players have we seen push for new deals going into their final year of the existing contract? He's got leverage but so do the 49ers.

Need to find a middle ground and make this work.

lol first off, hes not a WR3. Hes the best WR on the roster right now until Aiyuk proves he can return to form. Hes also the guy they throw to on big 3rd downs. Not Aiyuk, not Kittle. They target Jennings when they really need to convert.

Jennings got extended 1 year, but it wasn't considered a "new deal". He wants some security, and I think he's earned that after being an important part of the offense for years now.

The 49ers trading or letting Jennings sit to "make an example" would be a terrible move. Way to show your roster that working hard and doing everything the team needs after being a 7th round pick just gets you reprimanded.

Anyone with eyes saw how valuable Jennings has become. Shanahan knows it. If you make an example of Jennings for wanting a longer term deal than 1 year, Purdy is the one who will
suffer. If you want to make sure Purdy is worth that 265 mil, pay Jennings too.
