See this is the type of s**t that happens when you let guys like BA, Trent, and I can't remember who it was the season before dictate contract situations... Tell him no. He has absolutely no leverage unless the FO is planning on paying him which Im not sure we can.

Damn it, I knew there couldn't be a drama free off-season lol I'd add 2 yrs to his contract and boost it to around 13-14 million annually, he deserves it in my eyes.

Literally this is what happens across the league, it's not just a 49er thing. It's one of the only negotiations tactics they have.

He's way too important to the offense, especially with Aiyuk probably on his way out.

Ya'll got offended because BA wanted a trade. Go read the thread. How dare he do such a thing….you had people in there saying they should have given his cash to JJ "team player, he would never do that" lol

Not surprising that we see this now. JJ wants to know where he stands. They drafted Pearsall, Cowing and Watkins. They signed Robinson to a two-year deal. Aiyuk is signed long term.
49ers probably will not look at a JJ extension until they see how Aiyuk looks when he returns to action. If Aiyuk looks good they will let JJ walk in free agency and get the future comp pick.

So we shouldn't have paid Trent or Bosa who held out into camp? What happens if he doesn't "show up" tomorrow? Is he officially dead to you? Should we move him?

Nobody wants him out. We want him to play like a WR1 and stop acting like a diva. He got his money, but he's still acting like he doesn't want to be here.
Jennings should have already been extended. He is the most important part of our passing game, and stepped up at the best WR on the team last year after Deebo and Aiyuk couldn't stop getting hurt or dropping balls.
