Stokes gets a bad rap, but I felt that stemmed from Young's retirement and never clicking with Garcia. I thought he had perfect numbers and production for a #3, especially in that 1998 season.

Stokes would have been perfectly fine had he been a 2nd or 3rd rounder, instead the 49ers used two 1st round picks to move up for him with the second pick turning into Ray Lewis. That's a heck of a lot to give up for a guy that was a so-so #2 WR at best.

Besides Lewis, the 49ers also passed up on the possibility of drafting Lawyer Milloy, Mike Alstott and Muhsin Muhammad,

GO blame The Genius.. it was he who told the front office to do what they can to land JJ.

He's like the inverse of juan though. They didn't call him chokes for nothing. He had flashes and then would drop third downs all the time.

Jennings has been solid -a couple games with drops. Especially good at third down.

Chokes would have dropped most of the balls Jennings gets. He has a lot of pressure on him with most of his passes coming in crunch time on third down that have to be made.

Way more physical than Tai. I liked him, but he couldn't stay healthy.

Yep. I was thinking his game is a lot more like TO, minus the dropsies.
Somebody probably said it in this topic already, but he's what we all were hoping Jalen Hurd would be: a big, strong, reliable target.

And minus the HOF athleticism, haha.

You sure about that? Walsh didn't return as a consultant until 1996, from what I remember.

This had Vinny Cerrato written all over it.

I could see a little bit of that. I'd like Lynch to draft a player in that on day 3 or find an UDFA. Either that or another speedy receiver capable of stretching the field (for Trey next year).

Tough to tell who you're talking about when you refer to everyone as a genius.

More recently we passed on Mahomes & Watson for Solomon Thomas, and Micah Parsons for Trey Lance.
