Wish he would hurry up!

There's really no hurry on his part. He likely signs right before camp. 9ers aren't behaving as if they're in urgent need of a LT.

I hope he isn't slow and overweight after sitting out again.
is this really gonna drag out into training camp?!
He's going to drag this into and make it an excuse to skip camp. He's already done this before. Then work himself in shape within the season. It's my one gripe with him. I don't care about his age pay that man but at the same time if we're paying you like the best tackle in the NFL you better be one of the best week 1 not week 5

Honestly, IMO, it seems like they are on the verge of trading him during the draft. The same way the 9ers got him. Generally I think La Canfora speaks outta his ass, but he does have a point. If TW situation isn't resolved before the draft, we could possibly see TW moved. It makes sense, TW is really the only trade bait they really have to acquire a pick or two. And 9ers need more picks they aren't just gonna sit outta the 5th, 6th or 7th rounds.
At this point, I'm really thinking it's time to just bite the bullet and take the growing pains with a rookie LT. Rookie LT + Draft picked player we get for trading Trent + Jadeveon Clowney or Joey Bosa signed with the cap savings > Hold out Trent + ER at 27.

I'd really like to see Trent traded to the Browns or Jets, and let him finish out his career not even seeing the playoffs again. But realistically, only a contender would want to make the trade.
We're in the position because of ourselves and should have had a backup plan last year as this was bound to continue. Our line is in serious trouble without him. He has all the leverage and he knows it and I seriously don't hate what he's personally doing to get as much money as possible for doing his job.

LOL

Have you seen what he does in his gym in the offseason?

Not sure that he has that much leverage. This is just going to run a little longer and the contract will be tweaked and it will be all over.

Any team who acquires him NEEDS to have at least $33.07M in cap room to just acquire him, the only teams who have that kind of cap room are Tennessee, Washington, LA Chargers, Arizona, NY Jets & New England, and I don't see many, if any of these teams trading for him, maybe NE, but I doubt it, so a trade isn't likely IMO, not during the draft anyway, and eating cap room makes zero sense when they're trying to save room not eat it.

What would we get out of trading him? As far as cap space and dead cap hits?

Couldn't teams create cap space to fit Williams in and can't they work out a deal with Williams to soften the cap hit?

They can rework deals but when the trade happens they have to have the exact cap room to absorb his cap hit you can't redo a deal at the same time when the deal is made official

The teams you listed aren't likely to want an old tackle like Williams. The Chargers have 2 good tackles that will be coming back from injuries ths season. The others aren't contenders looking to add a solid tackle for a couple years. They would want someone younger. The Niners could have used the franchise tag on him but the deadline passed for that.

tired of the fat old fart hijacking our salary cap every other year, lets just trade him and be done with it
