We you need him the most, he's hurt. Been injured a lot during his time with us. He was healthy most of the year but of course it strikes at the worst possible time.
We just can't catch a break.

He was certainly missed tonight.
Watching him on the sideline, it was obvious it was killing him to not be out there.

I think the telecast mentioned it, he hasn't played a full season since like 2015 or some where around there.

Yet he's been an All-pro nearly every year

That we should be looking for the next option sooner rather than later.

Truthfully, we should have traded him two years ago if we were really trying to get younger. Keeping him at his age and contract # is a disaster waiting to happen. He misses games every single year and missed the biggest regular season game of the year this year. I love what he has done with this team and still think he's preforming at a high level. However, I think we've kept him around a season or two too long now. We could've already drafted his replacement by now and gotten younger at the position.

I like Trent. He's amazing and I'm glad we have him. He's still really great. But what I hate is we have absolutely no plan here. He's 38 in July. They have absolutely no long term plan. It's like just keep playing TW is the Shany plan. Until he's 45. You need a long term plan. Likely they won't pick offensive line high up this year either. Because it's just not what they do.

We would ld get a replacement but said player would be weaker. Outside of a lower cap number, I don't see how that helps. We really need to go all in on building the O line same as we did the D line.

I might be in the minority but I'd extend him, I don't see him retiring, they can save up to $16.728M by doing so.

I'd be completely against that.
I love Trent but his injury history is getting pretty alarming. It's not getting better with him close to 40 here and you gotta wonder about further drop off with injuries accumulating. His play is still very good but he has declined quite a bit the past couple years.
He also has already talked about retiring in the past(obviously because he's old). An extension is just asking for more dead cap.

With five-time All-Pro left tackle Trent Williams scheduled to carry a $39 million cap number this season, he and the 49ers currently are struggling to find a contractual solution, per league sources. If the two sides can't bridge their differences in their standoff, Williams… pic.twitter.com/gJlCpTHSlz

sounds like the agent is talking to Adam. Lynch will get hammered with this question later today.
