So maybe - the Niners wait for TW to retire, sign a premier FA LT, and draft a premier RT? It's a solid concept.

Then all they need is an OC upgrade

What premier left tackle makes it to FA? That s**t never really happens for a reason.

they extended Colton so RT isn't a issue for couple seasons (regardless of people feel about him he's been solid).

if there's a position they could upgrade via FA it's center. I don't see them putting a rookie in there.

Does solid require a TE to support?

Do we not complain that the readon Kittle doesn't get targets is because he has to block support which is typically on the right side.

Trent looked completely checked out in week 1. Hopefully he gets it together against the saints otherwise he is going to get Mac Jones killed.

I put that on the system more than who is playing RT.
Unfortunately, silverback may have finally found the cliff
This load management might be part of the culprit in his rapid decline, dude literally held out for more guaranteed $ and does the bare minimum in training camp.

Another f**king stupid decision by Shanylynch. Should have never extended him.
Not practicing because be needs. rest.........

Who is the back up again? Remind me to those that don't think we should have emphasized drafting an OT in 2024.

I can't believe the way players are always needing a game off here and thefre for rest. Not just in football. In all sports. They make millions of dollars and have better training than ever. Better diets. Personal chefs.

Players used to pride themselves on playing every game. Many didn't work out and stay in shape all year. They used training camp for that. They didn't have persoal chefs and all the supplements to make them bigger and stronger. Players didn't need to take a game off or skip practice.

Remind me who you wanted them to take?

The rest thing is basically three things.
1. Players are paid a lot more so they are more cautious with their health.
2. Teams want to have a good reputation so they defer to players.
3. Modern training techniques have both pushed players bodies much closer to their limits and their failure points, but also monitors their status to push for a break before they are injured.

There have always been players who are more or less soft, and different bodies have different limits and capabilities ... but those things are not what changed.
