He almost had it - it was just a little too high.

Trent Williams is now up to a 98.2 overall PFF grade.

That's absolute freaking madness. He has a 99.1 run-blocking grade.
The next 2 highest marks we've ever seen were Jonathan Ogden (95.0) in 2007 and Joe Thomas (92.9) in 2009
Trent Williams should be Offensive Player of the Year.

He won't be, because he's an offensive lineman, but no other player on offense is coming CLOSE to the level of historical dominance this season.

I was among the few, very few, who argued against paying Trent Williams big money. I wanted the 49ers to draft a replacement left tackle instead.
After watching Trent's play this season, I realize I was wrong. I wasn't just wrong. I was very wrong. Trent is our best lineman. He plays like a monster. Our running game would not work without him. Our passing game would not work without him.
I was just wrong, wrong, wrong and wrong. About Trent Williams. I am very glad the 49ers do not listen to my opinions.

I remember this debate.
Trent is the best lineman in football...worth every penny.

I don't understand how any player can be so dominant in the NFL. He's been more dominant than #99 from the Rams has been in years past.
I was always worried about Joe Staley retiring, thinking we'd have a big drop off. No idea we'd in fact be getting a massive upgrade... (Still love and miss me some Staley though)

A Trent 2-for-1 on the backside. I'm regulated to just being very matter of fact with what he's doing this season because there aren't enough superlatives to describe how easy he's making it look. pic.twitter.com/lrUWpc0ExL
