i'm guessing Mike Tomlin is at prax and he knows he's cooked. he needs some kind of homerun play to save his backside. imagine watching old Russ and Fields run around try to have some sort of air attack. he's panicking over there.
MT can collect the players he wants, his job security is unlike any other NFL coach.
How many Head Coaches have the Steelers had since the 60's?
How many Head Coaches have the Steelers fired in that same time period?
*5
but only 3 since 1970
I always really respected the Steelers for this, ownership understands the NFL is a fluid league and it can be very difficult to tread water while you look for the next Franchise QB that can carry a team for a decade or more.
Coaching is important, but not nearly as important as the turnover would lead fans to believe.
Get a smart coach with the proper work ethic, and dont freakout every time the team misses the playoffs.
//had 9 up there I read that as coaches from the 50s......they went though many in the 50s
