Steelers better be willing to give up something other than trash then. To get something you have to give something. But Steelers want him for free basically. They are just offering backups. Their backup guard, backup center, and #5 or 6 WR. For a top 10 WR who was borderline top 5 last season and who is only 26. Rediculous.

They don't have to offer anything as it stands. Aiyuk is winning. He has created a situation where Pittsburgh isn't competing with anyone for his services while also being annoying enough to where SF feels the need to move him.

I think there is a difference from being open to moving him to feeling the need to move him.

The 9ers can tell the Steelers we're not giving Aiyuk away and we have no problem forcing him to play for us on his 5th-year option so don't call until you're willing to put together something reasonable.

Then the 9ers can turn back to Aiyuk and basically tell him we had deals in place with multiple teams willing to give you the money you want and you said no and the team you want only wants to offer scraps for you and we're not trading for crap. So don't blame us for not trying to work out something for you now get back on the field and let's focus on 2024 together.

This is exactly the approach they should have with him.

Btw, I read the deal we had in place with NE was confirmed to include Kendrick Bourne. I think this was stated by Maiocco or Barrows, a local beat writer that's really in the know. That makes me sick if it was just like him and a 2nd. Judon and a 2nd I could get behind. Would be a sick rotation between Bosa, Floyd and him.

I was hoping it was something like Bourne + Judon + a 2nd but we really have no idea, we just know it was Bourne + something.

If we really accepted an offer of just Bourne + a pick (and the pick wasn't the Patriots 1st which is a premium asset) then that's very disappointing and speaks volumes about what we accepted from the Browns. A WR that would barely make the roster only because he "knows the system" and a mystery box that we can't even open for 8 months is a huge step backwards for us. We need a piece that noticeably helps us immediately and Judon would've been that.

I'd rather Aiyuk stay and play here. He is a very good WR, and a known commodity. I get he wants his $$$, but it seems he's overplayed his hand a bit as far as what he is worth. If I'm the FO unless I get a deal that blows me away I'm content to let him sit out and lose out on money at this point. Again I don't blame him for trying to get what he thinks he is worth...its a business. The team holds all the cards here though as far as holding him to the last year of his deal.

This!

A lot of people are scared of Aiyuk being "a distraction." Guess what? Chris Jones held out from the Chiefs and even sat up in the box during their prime time season opener which they lost and the Chiefs STILL WON THE DAMN SUPER BOWL! Enough with being scared of "distractions," do what actually makes sense! And if that means Aiyuk sits for a bit, so be it! "Getting rid of a distraction" should not be a part of this equation at all!

Right. But now he can act like a fool cause he knows there's a moneybag waiting for him if he can just get out of our contract.

Right now...…nobody wants to trade for him, give up players/draft picks and hand over a money bag. I wouldn't especially if I am a team that is building a roster. The WR position is WAY over rated. My guess, in order to acquire him, you are going to have to offer 5 years 30+million and give up a 1st or a solid player and a 2nd or 3rd. So, as a team, you just put a lot in that basket.
Pitt knowing they're gonna steal a top 10 WR

NFL notification is a bunch of trash. They have zero sources and have been called out plenty of times by reputable people.

that said I think at this point it's common sense that's where he's going

This team has dealt with this stuff for seasons. Saying it's a distraction is f**king p***y talk. All it's doing is setting a precedent that if you whine a little and hold your ground Lynch and Co will bend over.

To be clear, second team All-Pro, along with Puka, AJ Brown, and Evans. First team was Hill, Lsmb, and ASB. Aiyuk not on their level, pretty easy. With JJ and Chase missing time, the stars aligned for Aiyuk. He's not a top tier WR, just not. His tier is Olave, Dev. Smith, Nico Collins, Jalen Waddle and should be paid similarly. I know he thinks he's Jamar Chase but reality is he isn't.

Aiyuk is a top ten receiver by receiving stats, and his blocking skills add value here to that. 26-27 million a year is what the market says he is worth according to over the cap.

Disagree on the top 10 but agree on the money. I've been saying the Devontae Smith-Jalen Waddle range all along. 26-28.

Yeah... about that...

Maybe the 49ers should withdraw the offer and place the 5th year option sheet in front of him. Tired of your crap, BA.

No doubt!!!

Gonna be hilarious two whiney WRs in an Arthur Smith offense, this is going to be epic. Enjoy your 50 cathces BA. Cuz you're still a two behind Pickens. What an absolute Clown Show.

If we trade Aiyuk for a 2nd and some second-string players I might be done with Lynch It's a miracle we've come this close to a Super Bowl win with the mistakes he's made and just imagine how good we would be with a real GM.

Browns would be the only team I would trade with, if Amari Cooper is part of the deal.
