Shanahan can get most WRs. We would be throwing money out the window and missing an opportunity for more drat picks. Trade him and use those picks on the O-line and Defense. Lets build a jugernaunt D and monster O-line. Thats how we become SB champions

I feel the opposite. We have a young QB, and we are trying to maximize his success and our window, on his rook deal. BA is the clear #1 favored WR of Brock. BA when he is not facing KC, gets separation. He's the best route runner and target we have in the pass game.

not saying he isnt. But we dont utilize him right. I would rather have a RT of the same caliber giving Purdy time for any receiver to get open and open holes for CMC.

If you get a chance to see the all-22, he actually separated plenty against KC, which probably only pissed him off more about his production being limited by the offense.

Not really. He got open on the fake screen. There were a couple times where his defender blitzed or slipped, but other than that he struggled

So much reaching from that Rich guy. If you look before the ball is released on a lot of these Aiyuk isn't open. Some of these are zone too

I still don't see much separation from him vs man. Zone coverages he's good, but other than that he needed his man to slip/blitz to get real separation

When the ball is released is irrelevent and has no bearing on Aiyuk getting separation, which is the discussion at hand. You claimed he only got open on a fake screen and a couple of times when a defender blitzed or slipped. Both of those statements are inaccurate. The truth is Aiyuk did in fact get separation plenty of times against the Chiefs.

Exactly.

He was also going against one of the better CBs in the NFL so probably didn't get the amount of separation as he would against a lesser player, but he was open a lot against and all pro CB

It does have bearing. Defenders go towards the ball when it's released making it seem like Aiyuk is open. I should've added I was referring to getting locked up in man to man

I'll add the two comeback routes against man (where Aiyuk basically throws the guy off him lol) but one got batted down and the other Jennings already had the ball before Aiyuk made his move. Bucky Brooks even said the film shows he got locked up in man

Purdy went safe a few times for sure, but also didn't have time to go deep on others. I wonder how far along Purdy reads Aiyuk was on many of these plays?

Lolwut? When the ball is released is irrelevant?

That's the biggest and most frustrating take away for me after watching these reps: the OL was pure trash.

But that doesn't negate what BA was able to do. He found ways to separate against arguably the best secondary in the NFL. You gotta give the man his props because he deserves them.

Yeah, in man coverage--which is what the Chiefs primarily played in the 2nd half--CBs eyes are on the receiver.

Aiyuk is a decent 1, but he would make a great 2. He's like a Jeremy Maclin. I hope we hit on a Nico Collins type pretty sure he was a 3rd rounder

That sentiment seems to be shared by opposing defensive coordinators as well since most of them focus on eliminating Deebo. The Chiefs put McDuffie, their best CB, on Deebo and suffocated him. I don't think it would've gone well for BA against McDuffie, either.

Makes you wonder how BA would fare if he was the primary focus of opposing DCs.

He'd be like Terry McClaurin in a bad situation. Obviously talented, but struggling to produce consistently. That's why I don't like him complaining and basically saying he's what got us there. He has to know this is the best place for him. He benefits a lot playing with these players in this scheme

My understanding is Sneed was on other teams top WRs this year. Not McDuffie.

this is from the season, from Chiefs news: Sneed's ability to limit an offense's No. 1 receiver is one of the biggest reasons that opposing quarterbacks can't get into a rhythm.
