As to Aiyuk, the only real area he could improve upon is his contested catches (timing, body-out, high pointing and positioning). That said, with Kyle and his own ability, he rarely gets in that position. I can't wait to see him this year. 1K.

I agree 100%.

Yes. But not in the context that you went into detail about. He is still catching almost every pass with his body. He leaps when he doesn't need to. Which I think keeps him from gaining More YAC. Dude can break ankles in open space. You can't do that while you're in the air though and DB's close in too fast. You all know I love Aiyuk but the dude needs some confidence in his hands. That is like the final task on the road to eliteness for him.

what leaps are we talking about? he was leaping in the end zone, there is no YAC to be had there.. I don't recall any unnecessary leaps in open field, when he could have done otherwise, I'm just going off the top of my head tho..

Well if you don't see it, I'm not going to argue with you about it. However, I am not the only one who has started to recognize it as a pattern.

If you haven't seen those plays than you just don't watch enough 49ers content. I just don't see why I have to do legwork for you just because you don't agree with my take. Go watch JTO's video of Brock Purdy vs the steelers. He has noticed it as well.

Underrated aspect of Aiyuk's game on Sunday - he always was ready for the ball to come his way. There was that one play last year where Purdy threw deep to him but he stopped his route, never expecting to get the pass on that play, likely because Jimmy G would never throw it to him on that route. The pass went incomplete, and was fortunate not to be an INT. Purdy chewed him out for it, and rightly so since he would have had a good chance for a long TD if he had ran his whole route and been in place for the pass. Gotta think having a QB willing to put his trust in you on any play increases your dedication to every route on every play.

I love Jimmy G but, this is the difference in QB's that will get #6+ for us. Purdy Boy Brock gives his teammates a reason to play differently and TRUST him. BA and everyone else on offense are getting to know him and understand that their play will result in success because #13 is running the show.

First play should be a jet sweep with Deebo running directly into Witherspoon

I obviously agree. I was just happy to see him body out and fight for that TD pass while still having the body control to get both his feet in.
Any news on this guy?
