Niners can keep both Deebo and Aiyuk for 3 more years because Aiyuk will be cheap this year this, his 5th year option, and year 1 of his extension will be cheap. People act like once Aiyuk is paid they will both be making $20+ Million a year immediately. Plus I expect Trent to be retiring in the next year or two. Armstead will coming near the end of his contract. That and the salary cap rising.

He can easily be a top 5-10 wr IF he gets fringe top 10 qb play or rather just top 5-10 in targets. If he was playing with let's say Kirk Cousins, he would be not too far from Jefferson's yardage total (say 200 yards less per year) but I think would be ahead in TDs for sure.

I think that he was being realistic. If you look at Aiyuk's efficiency stats from last season and multiply them by the targets Jefferson got. Aiyuk would have been the 2nd best receiver in the league.

when volume goes up efficiency goes down
You do the same efficiency stats Jimmy G would only have 129 passing yards less than Patrick Mahomes if he threw as many attempts as he did

That is not necessarily true. Because if that were the case than no player would actually progress. You would also be saying the opposite. If Mahomes had less attempts and Jefferson got less targets that they would be more efficient and I find that very hard to believe. Besides, what other way can a player earn more opportunities if he cannot show he can still be efficient with less?

no i am saying those guys are superstars and because of that they can keep that efficiency because thats how good they are i think Aiyuk is good to great i dont think he is a superstar where he can match that efficiency with 100 more targets
Im also not saying he doesn't deserve more targets or shouldnt get them i am just saying lets hold of fon putting him in the same breath as JJ until he proves he can do it. I would also argue he is our best pure WR but he is the 4th best playmaker on the team ( a great problem to have)

Those guys are superstars because they showed that they were efficient enough to earn more opportunities and when they did, they made the most of them. Aiyuk has shown to be a top receiver as far as effficiency, so he has earned the right to more targets. It has yet to be seen if given more opportunities that he can be a superstar as well. There is really only one way to find out.

The dif with JJ and BA, MIN throws like 180 more times on the season than we do. That's a lot fewer targets teamwide as a club. Also they don't have Kittle, CMC, Deebo, etc. to eat into target share.

That is exactly why its weak sauce to rank position groups like WR's by comparing totals. Efficiency stats are a far superior comparison.

I'm being very realistic. Justin Jefferson is awesome but he gets thrown the ball thrown to him 15 times a game and he doesn't have to share with a ton of other people. What does Aiyuk get….5-8 targets per game??? Plus JJ has a better quarterback than we have had. Plus Minnesota is behind in a lot of games so they pass a lot more.
Brandon Aiyuk has more touchdowns per catch than Jefferson and he is better at running routes in my opinion. Jefferson uses his body and his height a lot more which is great but if you want to be realistic l BA is a touchdown machine waiting to happen. JJ is not and he has had every advantage to be. (Better qb, way more targets, almost always behind so they do throw a lot more)

That is one skillset that BA has that is never utilized. Throwing the ball up and letting BA go get it. Except in TC the past couple of years, I never see it.

True. He has some hops but not so much the height. His separation is so elite that he may never have to develop the jump ball part of his game. I hope he does
