If he's healthy and ready to go, why didn't he show up to OTA's and force FO to release him? He could be going commando already. Makes no sense.

You should also look up Kittle's previous interview when talking about Aiyuk... He cares about Brandon.
As far as that respones, yes that's George... he will rib you, like he has many of his past teammates.
Oh I agree, George is as good a teammate as you'll find. And I know he likes to joke around but it sure seems like there is some animosity there. Not sure teammates are on board with being ghosted.
Maybe I'm wrong and Aiyuk has been keeping in touch with the boys. Just saying from everything we've heard/seen, he ghosted the org and also ghosted his teammates.
One day it'll all probably come out and we can make informed opinions on it though
Jimmy G used to ghost poor positive Kittle... George would wear Jimmy G's mug on his shirt, and Jimmy G still would ghost him and the coaches... but that didn't change George's support of Jimmy.. And I don't think that would change George's support of Aiyuk (if Brandon chose to stick around).
NOW once Brandon leaves the team, I don't expect the same level of support or discussion... George would steer any questions to be about his current teammates and WRs. That is where his support will be, as it should be. I don't feel George will bash Brandon once he leaves, but if he gets caught with a question that's putting the team/FO in a bad light... he'll be the leader he is and defend the FO.
Not during the season...
Come on man surely you understand the difference.
From what George has told us.. Aiyuk was fine and there, until that leak about his contract... then he cut off communication. He made his decision to leave for good. Sometimes you have not communicate with co-workers, when you're dealing with an issue with management. You don't want to give anything. I'm pretty sure it was not anything personal with George...but that's not the first time I've seen someone cut off communication with friends and co-co-workers when dealing with something serious.
lol, come off it, kyle said what ba did is something he's never seen in 22 years
a time period which included all of jimmy and you're dragging him into this

Again I haven't had time to break down this video... but he touches on it in here... touches on many stuff..
Regading the Super Bowl... all season he was getting a certian amount of passes thrown his way, and the team usually won. But in the Super Bowl, he didn't get the same amount of passes... and he kind of alluded to that reasons maybe having to do with contract negotiations leverage. That's not the first time we have seen Head Coaches make weird decsions, EVEN at the Super Bowl, for personal or front office reasons. Hell look at Cheatin Pete and Russell Wilson, wanting him to win that Super Bowl with a pass...when they have o'l reliable Marshawn Lynch (who they were ready to move on from, happened one season after).. and they ended up losing that Super Bowl.
So what ever the reason.. he took away from it that pay was part of the reason he didn't get the amount of involvement... the highest paid players were the ones who the team relied on, so he felt he needed to be one of those top paid players on the team IF he was going to be taken serious in the offense....especially in those critical games.
From there were a bunch of other things that he didn't like (FO media BS), and returned the same energy (which in turn the fans didn't like for some reason lol.)
This seems like a bit of a stretch, maybe Aiyuks dumbass might think that way but I doubt the 9ers were avoiding throwing to their all pro WR in the Super Bowl to minimize contract negotiations. Your Marshawn Lynch reference doesn't really make sense either. If I'm not mistaken that was Russell Wilson's contract year so by your interpretation of the situation shouldn't they have let Lynch run it in to minimize Wilson's leverage?
*Side note everyone talks about the Seahawks not running it but what about the Super Bowl vs the Ravens when we had Frank Gore who can fall forward and gain yards but threw a fade to Crabtree 3 times in a row?

Why would the 49ers release him then even if he showed up? There's little actual incentive for him to show up to voluntary team activities if the team isn't going to release him anyway. There would be incentive for him to show up to mandatory team activities, and even then the 49ers may still not release him until he's due actual money. Could just stick him on the side like Jimmy G. Maybe the cancellation was a reason he was b***hing on social media.

The only way the 49ers release Aiyuk is if he reports. The 49ers are absolutely fine with Aiyuk not reporting as they wouldn't be forced to release him for cap purposes. That pushes the acceleration of the dead money back another year. The cap hit is only the 24 Signing Bonus proration and 25 Option Bonus proration. Then next year they can cut him post-6/1 splitting the dead money across 2027 and 2028.

Huh? Jimmy did his own thing during the offseason for 2 months. I have a hard time comparing apples to apples there

Agreed. He still has incentive to show because of potential fines though. Not sure what the total amount could lead up to* if he skipped it completely, but I think 50k per day was mentioned.

Went up to 60k daily this year. Still non-waivable. Because he was extended and not a free agent, he doesn't get fined game checks for missing preseason games. Veterans are required to appear on July 25th meaning 38 days between 7/25 and 8/31 inclusive. That comes out to a 2.28M fine. This is where the speculation that he will report is coming from. That's a ton of money for a guy that is likely to be playing for less in 2026.

How would the fines work if he has no guarantees left and we're not actively even paying him anything?
Seems like a lot of money to flush down the toilet (along with and guarantees the niners might scrape back). I'm genuinely interested to understand why he wouldn't report in, tell niners management to get f**ked to their face, and be released!

I'm not quite sure to be honest. Typecast or AB may be able to explain.
For the bottom, I tend to think he is going to report. I think he had his outbursts on social media because mandatory minicamp was cancelled and delayed the process.
(Again, I do not think the 49ers cancelled mandatory minicamp to avoid dealing with Aiyuk, like some on social media do. That would be absolutely insane.)

If he's playing this season, the fine comes out of his weekly check. If he's making less than the fine amount or isn't playing, he has to pay the league out of pocket.
I don't think the 49ers have an opportunity to scrap much money back. They didn't pay out his salary for the final 3 games since he was designated as Left Squad. He was an active participant through the end of October and the team was making public comments about his possible return that offseason even after he left.

I agree, and I do think he is going to report. However, he did potentially* burn an additional 2ish million bouncing from the team towards the end of the season last year, so maybe he will be willing to burn another 2.

I made an edit to that comment you responded to about what he actually lost. I don't think the team really has an opportunity to claw back any more cash. I don't even think they can get an insurance payout on any of 2025.

I think they can clawback 25 percent of his prorated bonus amounts from last season, which is slightly more than 2m (due to his placement on the left-squad/reserve list). I assume they can negotiate a settlement to that effect when he's reinstated.
