So there's more to a regime than the head coach and GM, especially in our power structure. We have an executive at the top of football ops in Paraag Marathe who has been there through both of these regimes, and is in charge of contracts and salary cap management specifically (among other things).

Regardless, the post I responded to asked if the 49ers had ever done that, not specifically the 49ers with Kyle Shanahan as the HC. They have.

Yeah he's got tons of followers, but a low percentage are 49ers fans. He panders to our rivals and their fans. People are citing his recent report that has alll kinds of revisionist timelines in it regarding the Aiyuk saga that every Tom Dick and Harry are running with and it drives me nuts. I hate the man, have ZERO respect for him, and wish Kinlaw would have whooped his ass.
