Grant Garbage is nothing but slop for fans of other teams to eat up.

There's a reason why Commanders fans are worshipping him all the sudden while actual 49ers fans who know him know to instantly dismiss him.

I'm embarrassed for the people Cohn's schtick actually resonates with.
In hindsight they should have done a tag and trade. While there's big pressure on teams to pay twice($+ high draft pick) we're better off letting other teams overpay and take that gamble. It's injuries and 'quietly quitting' once they get their bag. Don't forget the wife beaters and DUI ones. A 3rd round comp pick 2 years down the road doesn't work as well as an immediate pick in the 3rd round. Deebo was worth a #10 pick offer and it suggests the team should be more preemptive when it comes to timing. What did they get for both of them other than nothing?

Trent-it's not too late. Get rid of him and come up with a plan B as Bill Walsh would. He would cut the player. Shanalynch would make them find their own deal. It's fair and no butt hurt along the way. No doubt there are home grown that deserve the big payday. Think Warner, Bosa, Kittle. Accept the injuries.

The same loser who pissed and moaned all
offseason about how he was nowhere to be seen, would partake in warmups and not a team guy amongst other things

Good luck with that plan B for Trent.

Yeah because the Niners are fine not playing the guy they paid $120 Million for. I stopped watching and listening to Grant a long time. He is all about clicks and views and doesn't have much credibility in anything he says. Have the Niners ever decided to not play a guy who they paid alot of money to?

Colin Kaepernick comes to mind immediately, but that was due to his injury guarantees. Didn't see the field in his final year in SF until he reworked his contract. Another situation where both parties clearly wanted to move on.

Different regimes = different culture, different business.
Can't lump Kaep and Shanny as if they're were together

I'm just guessing here about why Grant is this dumb. But I'm pretty confident his parents are closely related.

So there's more to a regime than the head coach and GM, especially in our power structure. We have an executive at the top of football ops in Paraag Marathe who has been there through both of these regimes, and is in charge of contracts and salary cap management specifically (among other things).

Regardless, the post I responded to asked if the 49ers had ever done that, not specifically the 49ers with Kyle Shanahan as the HC. They have.
