I sincerely don't understand. Last I checked he's under contract with us. Where does it state anywhere that if a player does not report than the team has to cut/release him?

We cannot keep him from reporting and continuing with his current contract.

We want to cut him and clear the books

Cannot wait for the day so this talk ends, lol.

That's not what I suggested.

You said that the team can't do what I suggested even if they wanted too.

I suggested that they don't release/cut him and give him exactly what he wants and orchestrated.

Again I will ask; where does anywhere state that a team HAS TO (not wants to) release/cut a player who is under contract?

What you suggested was they keep putting him on the 'did not report' list. That's what they can't do. If he reports, it's game over and then his contract continues… which the team does not want.

They will cut him. It's really simple. They already got what they wanted which was the claw back of his future guarantees, freeing their ability to cut him and save actual dollars.

You think he would report after all of this?? Completely disagree. But this is all just talk. I know they will cut him.

FWIW I did state that it's something I would do. I'd call that bluff all day; dude already gave up millions by not reporting. I don't know what would give anyone the impression that he would start reporting after that. He made his bed. I would not give him exactly what he wants and seemingly orchestrated; I think it sets a very bad precedent. A stupid one that I don't think many if any other player will do again, but still.
You don't let the possibility of him reporting at any time and triggering that contract to occur. That's just bad risk assessment. You get it off the books ASAP so the numbers are known and concrete, even if it is a short term spike against the cap.

He'd report for very likely the same reason he didn't contest the forfeiture of his guarantees: it frees him to be released and seek a new team. Get away from a team that regretted signing him, tried to move him when he was injured, and then voided his guarantees when the opportunity arose.

Again, this is not factoring the point that the 49ers do not want to delay a 30m cap hit.

Yes I know and agree; the team is doing the right thing. I said I'm petty like that lol f**k Aiyuk

Ooooo sounds a bit like some sympathy for him. You gonna leave out everything that he did prior to them regretting signing him? lol just messing with you; yes, I'll be glad when we are t talking about this clown anymore like you 🤙🏾

Held out for his market value and not accept a lowball offer without exercising his leverage? That's business.

What he did before that was ball out for this team. Almost always high effort: blocking, route running, everything you could really ask for out of a player.

And I still would have traded him, just not in an effort to save money.

This is what's so disappointing. Played like Jerry and JT. Always busted ass

Wow you really do think the guy is innocent. Aiyuk himself admitted that he was "extra" as the kids nowadays say.

Did all kinds of social media stuff. Requested a trade; got it at his "market value," but didn't like the teams I guess. Posted a practice video of Jayden Daniel's and the Commanders. That's just stuff off the top of my head; the dude went overboard in my opinion; I guess it's just business for you. Diva antics is something I personally can't stand. Deebo's contract year included. They don't want to be on the team no more and request trades I'd grant it.

What's seemingly being lost in all this is that he simply thought he could get his cake and eat it too. He wanted a $30+ contract and a trade to a team that he desired. Didn't get it. HE decided to then sign the contract with the 49ers.

Whatever I'm done. Ain't even worth posting in this thread and wasting time talking about this clown

You can go back and read my arguments about the situation in recent pages in this thread. It gets tiresome repeating the same things over and over again. Rest assured, I don't think Aiyuk is 'innocent'. I also don't think he's bats**t crazy and the team is 'innocent'. I don't fall for D grade PR efforts that don't line up with the available information.

there's a reinstatement process, BA can't just show up to camp and act like nothing happened.

I read that both parties need to agree on coming back, i don't think the 49ers would disagree and keep BA's rights. They would probably agree, dump him and move on.

Yes they have to agree and officially reinstate him.

But they also can't leave him on the list indefinitely as a retaliatory measure.
Just cut this fool ASAP. I'm lost on the idea of just keeping him to keep him. That's hurting the team.
If a MFr just wants to get his balls tickled bruh let him do that sh!t somewhere else
