What I thought was interesting is that in an interview with Brock recently, Brock said "I had nothing to do with this." To me, it sounded sort of insecure on Brock's part and that maybe Brock's contract did have an influence on all of this and Brock deep down knows it.
Is it possible the 49ers hardballed Ayiuk because of how much they paid Brock and were able to get back some $$$ from Ayiuk with the silly excuse that Ayiuk missed rehab appointments?
If so, Ayiuk should have fought the void knowing that if he didn't, the 49ers still would just not release him since they can get draft capital for him.
Ayiuk is healed and the same player as before. If Ayiuk can forgive the 49ers and play here next year great. If not, the 49ers have rights to him and they better not trade him unless they get a 2nd or 3rd.

"the silly excuse"? lol

What?? Lol here is the quote

" "All the contract stuff, I'm totally out of that. Has nothing to do with me ... but it does suck because I love BA, and all the moments we've had on the field together have been awesome. Love playing football with him. It sorta sucks right now, it's all gray and we don't really know what's going on. He's doing his thing, I know he is rehabbing and trying to get back. That's all I can say to it."

That's a distorted angle on Brock's words and what happened with BA. I don't buy either takes on any level.
Whatever happens, I'm guaranteeing Ayiuk is healed and could play right now if he wanted to at the same level as before his injury. Aside whose at fault here, we do have rights to Ayiuk and he is definitely worth a 2nd or 3rd.
This dude is a loser. He's healthy enough to play but is acting like a teenage girl. He has quit on this team. Just as bad as de'vondre campbell. Get him out of here next year.

Fine, get him out of here next year, but I at least want a 3rd for him!!!

I'd be shocked if we got a 3rd for him, no one in their right mind would take on that contract after that injury and this buffoonery

I think his injury will be the only real thing at play with a future team and contract.

With no sample of playing time post injury I would guess he'll sign a short term 'prove it' deal with a new team.
Kyle did say that he has rarely seen a contract voided like that. I am sort of shocked the 49ers organization just did not leave everything as is even if Ayiuk was missing meetings. Why rock the boat and just not pay Ayiuk as promised?

I know this is an unpopular opinion, but if I'm the 49ers, try your best to reconcile this situation and keep Ayiuk for next year playing on this team. He is a good player and we need him. And we do have rights to him.

They do not want to pay him. It's pretty simple. He's done as a 49er.

Well if they don't want to pay him, then why haven't they released him?

Trust me, stuff is going on behind the scenes.

I don't get how you are shocked. The 49ers front office regretted giving BA that deal, and BA gave them an excuse to get out of that contract. Furthermore, BA doesn't want to be here, so he didn't even bother fighting for his $27 million. That's extremely telling.

BA is gone. While the football side(Shanny+Lynch) wants him back, the 49ers front office wants him gone, and BA wants to go. It's beyond time to move on already.

Kind of sounds like something BA himself would say.

Why didn't the 49ers just let the guy get away with acting like an a*****e?

Why don't they encourage more players to act out of line? What gives?
