Dude literally threw away 25M and the flexed 2 of the same chain right after. I doubt he's thinking about saving money on taxes

Yes it would.

$120 million contract.

13.3% highest rate in CA. 0% in Nevada.

$120,000,000 * .133 = $15,960,000

$15,960,000 more in Nevada on that contract. That's quite a lot.
Nobody is talking that paying 30M per year to a receiver to be the 3rd option in the passing game (CMC, Kittle) was a stupid idea from the beginning. That's why Shanahan should focus in being only a coach and not the de facto GM.

I get what you're saying but when you think you have a #1 receiver on the roster already you should pay them. The Trey Lance decision was abysmal, but the Aiyuk one was not. So many people forget how badly we all wanted him signed. Yes there were others that were against it from the get go, but I have a feeling the same people complaining about the contract now most likely were hammering their fists on the table for him to be signed. Bunch of hindsight reactionary fans. I wanted him signed since he caught that diving TD against the eagles and I'm sad it has played out this way. Imo I defended Aiyuk and I was wrong. Glad the FO voided his contract

If Brandon wants to come back and play real football he's welcome. If he's going to dog it deliberately and drop balls that we all know he could catch, like he did last year before he got hurt, then he can go screw. The 49ers were in the wrong not to give him the deal he wanted right away but then he was in the wronger by acting like a spoiled child after he accepted the deal.

I don't think the 9ers are wrong, we gave him a fair contract and even explored trading him upon his request, we had a trade setup with the patriots and they were willing to pay his asking price but he declined it. We could have just shipped him off right there but we were trying to do right by him. To try and twist this situation as the 9ers fault is hilarious. Dude has been a headache for 2 years now and barley been on field

Nah. We did the same thing to samuel and bosa and purdy. it's us. Aiyuk had a season for the ages, and we squibbled over 2-3m. Where did it get us? Bosa hasn't averaged 10 sacks season since, samuel gone, aiyuk all but holding a declared labor action, brock throwing marshmellows.

Would eddy d have done it this way?

You do have a point we have a history on dragging out contract negotiations, but we explored trading Deebo and Ayuik. In BAs case we had a trade in place that was willing to pay him the asking price his agent gave us. As far as Eddy, he didn't have cap space to be concerned of. If I'm not mistaken they implemented cap space right after the Deion Sanders signing

That's not entirely correct. Stater tax is based on adjusted gross income after federal taxes (37%() and other deductions are taken out. The 13.3% wouldn't be calculated on the enitre gross salary. Still his net income would be 13.3 % higher.

It was a pretty rough and rounded and basic look at it. Of course there would be adjustments, deductions and so on. An actual CPA would have to do it with all the information available. The point is less money to you in CA and more in NV by a significant amount. In each of those states on the same contract.

Not to mention the cost of nearly everything in California is the highest in the nation.

Can't blame him for wanting to move his $ out of that state.
Can't help but hoping somehow some way he comes back for a playoff run.

Someone gonna inject him with some motivation and fire? Doubt it. He can pound sand.
The FO just needs to find a way to mend things. We could really use him back.
