Yeah, moving DB was a miscalculation.
Beyond that, I think CA taxes and cost of living might be more of a deterrent for FAs than anything else.

Nevada doesn't have state taxes either. Think that helps the Raiders?

Organizational disfunction would likely be another factor for those FAs who have options.
We'll see if BA goes there or not if/when he becomes a FA.

If you're gonna use your own people to rehab, it might be a good idea to communicate this with your employer about what direction you're going in, especially when blowing them off costed you generational wealth.
again, total clown weirdo behavior from Aiyuk

Dude coulda gone to NE with a top 5 QB and the number one seed in the AFC. He's not exactly an intelligent individual and his football savvy is below average. 😂🤡

Again, I believe BA was listening to his posse, not his agent. That is why I believe he accepted the voiding of money. He recognized it was his own doing that cost him. He didn't want to throw his posse under the bus after his agent told him he screwed up so he accepted his punishment.
I posted earlier that his agent, Ryan Williams is one of the best agents in the business. If he had known what BA was doing, he would have advised against it.

I cant remember ever seeing a player roll over like that on guarantees so I think it's safe to say Aiyuk f**ked up

Cool. We need to be drafting better anyways. If no high-priced FAs want to come, those are just the breaks.
Personally, I think the fear that FAs wouldn't want to come here because of BA's actions (not the 49ers', BA's) is complete b******t.
Player surveys rate the 49er organization as top tier

He will soon find out that poor behavior can lead to a shorter career. We have far more examples of more talented players this happening to

Always funny to see the vocal few here say shanahan sucks, organization is a disaster, etc. and everything straight from the players mouths over the years has been it's a top organization with shanahan/lynch creating a great culture.
I'll never forget a few years ago for playoff game we had FORMER players that were in different NFL teams show up and support us on the sidelines. Had never seen that before and I think it's further proof of how shanahan/lynch run things

We agree.
Anyone who pays a $1+ million commission to an agent to represent their best interests and then fails to seek/heed their advice is a fool.

Some "fans" push their own narrative no matter what the pesky facts say. The only thing left is to see how they would spin a Super Bowl win.

I don't think BA screwed up on the guarantees getting voided. Given his injury history, and indecisiveness during the last contract negotiations, I think he and his agent knew that the guarantee actually made him leaving far more difficult.
1. Another team would be facing having to assume that contract
2. It gave the 9ers leverage in the trade options because they could always just assert they were going to pay the guarantee and leave themselves in control of trade discussions.
3. Now removing the guarantees actually helps both sides - a trade is far more likely and palatable to the new team. If the guarantee was paid, then the 9ers would have been hard pressed to accept anything less than a 1st or 2nd round pick - and I can't imagine a team was gonna offer that to a player coming off a severe injury and questions about his commitment / attitude. Now, getting a 4th or 5th could be palatable? And a lot more teams would do that.
That's why I think BA didn't contest the cancellation. He'll get most of it back in a new contract with a new team. Ironically, given his injury it will likely be an $18MM - $24MM base incentive laden contract -- right where the 9ers started their offers last year.
So BA actually made a great 1 year pay day, and got paid all through not playing in 2025 at the rate of the 2024 contract. Not bad for playing a handful of games over 2 seasons.
Maybe I wrong? lol

Ok since they don't want to tell us which rule he broke then the media should ask "have any past players broke that same rule?"
Because all they are saying right now is that "this is the first time we have ever had to do this" when it could be, this is the first time they chose to do this lol.
Rules are rules though. I don't think it will be worth it long term. Reputation wise. I'm sure there are other players around the league who have done something similar (or knew of teammates who have), and to think the 9er FO would take this kind of action? Some free agent players will take that into consideration when deciding from a few choices.
Aiyuk could have challenged this through the NFLPA but decided against doing so. I doubt this will have any effect on free agents coming here.
