I'd really like to know the full story on this one. It seems from the outside that Aiyuk couldn't handle not being targeted as much in the Super Bowl and the animosity started from there. What I read from Aiyuk's negotiating tactics is he seemed like a player who's feeling were hurt. Perhaps he really is just a diva though. Whatever happened it soured everything.

I think the team signed him because they were desperate to keep him. When his injury occurred and with his attitude, the team had no goodwill there and looked for a way out of the deal. I'm not sure if there's something else going on personally with BA, but not showing up made it an easy decision for SF.

Sucks because I really liked him as a player. He clearly let negative emotion get in the way of his football. I hope he's doing alright and this isn't the beginning of a downward spiral for the guy.

By voiding his contract, we may not have the right to trade him. I'm not sure on that but I don't think any team is going to give us anything anyway knowing he will not play here any more.

BA has played this well. He got his money and now wants to play for a coach that lets him do what he wants. It was clear from his rookie year that Kyle did not like the effort he was putting out and demanded more. So, BA did what he had to do to get paid and now rides off into the sunset.

Actually Aiyuk f'ed up by losing $26 million of his signing bonus ... he's a mental case

The big mistake was not trading him last year when he was showing signs of insanity
Yep he should be the Steelers problem.
If they managed to trade him would that $25 million in 2026 still be voided or would his new team need to pay the full amount?

I also wonder why they would leak this. Keep it in house and try to trade him instead of just releasing him. Just odd

They kind of had to, this has been going on since training camp and kept it under wraps. Then reporters are saying they don't ever even see him anymore.

They didn't have to. They wanted to for whatever reasons. The niners media is pretty soft and they rarely ask any hard questions. Now they looking at a 29.5 million dead cap hit next year. I'm not cap expert but just seems they could've tried to played this better in hopes of trading him rather than just releasing him. It didn't end like this for Deebo. So that just makes me think it's way more to this story than some skipped meetings and practices. Or maybe the injury and contract make him somebidy that no team would trade for.
I'm guessing him not fighting the void of his guaranteed money was a compromise so he could chose his own destination.

I didn't even think of that
Don't think that other teams aren't watching the drama. This isn't TO we're talking about. He's going to take a hit on his paycheck. There are no winners in this.

Greenlaw was never going to stay while playing under Warner.

There is a cure for cancer. Dont back down. Dont change your mind if he all of a sudden wants to play. One year more cap hit and done. We can look to FA or draft. It's house cleaning 2026. BA, probably Trent, maybe Juice. They should have cash to make moves.

Handled poorly, the signing but not the end of the world if they are out. He's not a fit for this organization. Go diva somewhere else.

I'd love to know the actual story behind all of it. IMO I don't think it's all just BA being a cancer. I think there's some s**t going on in the FO with how all of this went down (Parrag vs coaching staff).

end of the day sucks because he's the type of WR this team needs and we basically threw a bunch of cash out the window because of something outside of football

Or maybe the story about him reneging on the original handshake deal after the st brown deal was accurate .

Why are you still posting?

So the only receivers scheduled to be under contract next year is Ricky, Cowing, Robinson and Watkins?

Its a nice, interesting, but unproven skillset.

It is far from a nice or interesting group. The only guy that can offer anything is Pearsall and he has yet to prove he can stay healthy.
Availability is the bottom line!

Why keep him if he isn't playing?

Spend the money on a new receiver and keep getting better.

The Kinkaw draft ...... with Cee Dee still on the board

I don't think it's about Kyle and more about the FO…but you know that doesn't fit your narrative
