There is a cure for cancer. Dont back down. Dont change your mind if he all of a sudden wants to play. One year more cap hit and done. We can look to FA or draft. It's house cleaning 2026. BA, probably Trent, maybe Juice. They should have cash to make moves.
Handled poorly, the signing but not the end of the world if they are out. He's not a fit for this organization. Go diva somewhere else.

No you wouldn't and there are so many historical examples that disprove this.

Its a nice, interesting, but unproven skillset.

I'd love to know the actual story behind all of it. IMO I don't think it's all just BA being a cancer. I think there's some s**t going on in the FO with how all of this went down (Parrag vs coaching staff).
end of the day sucks because he's the type of WR this team needs and we basically threw a bunch of cash out the window because of something outside of football

49ers lead the NFL in doing dumb s**t no other team does.
an amicable divorce over guaranteed money? Never happens. The dude wanted out real bad. It can't just be aiyuk being an idiot, unless he's the biggest idiot ever.
something doesn't smell right about the FO. Paraag has closed his purse after purdy/kittle and everyone knows it.
Kyle shanahan. Picking one loser WR after another. Jesus Christ. The fact that pearsall can't play is just icing on the cake. Sean mcvay once again running circles around the genius Kyle.

Hopefully they can at least move him instead of just cutting him…probably swap picks for basically nothing but at least you're not letting him sign with the Rams or some s**t

I guess the whole "every player in the NFL wants to play for Kyle" is no longer true.

Ok but I've seen Mcvay go to the Super Bowl with two first round QBs with both being the first QB taken. Kyle has been with Jimmy G and Purdy

That's not true for any coach. Every player wants to play for money even though Juice took a pay decrease to stay here

It's all rather sad.

According to an OTC article, we're going to end up paying him $35M out of the full $120M. Is this true? Still too much obviously but better than $45-75M

And isn't that because of last year and this year, with him being on the team? We shouldn't have any vap hot from him beyond maybe 2026

Highly doubt that because it'd mean the acquiring team would take on the contract. More likely they wait for his contract to clear following a release first. BA cost himself a lot of money. And unless there is more to the story (BA nor his agent are speaking) here, teams are going to be wary of taking that on. He's going to have to take a short term prove it deal.
