We have to keep him on roster thru next season before we can get out of that contract. Due to make $15 million next year

We can debate all the off-field bs about BA all day, but I don't think there's a debate about BA as a player: dude was an absolute baller. Hopefully, he can return to being that player.

The NFL should have a cap exemption if a player has a career ending type of injury they don't count against the salary cap. Similar to a car in a bad accident if they are 'totaled' you can move in from it. Similar to a vehicle the player can be salvaged title and shouldn't count against caps because in reality their careers are f**ked. This way after they recover at least a team can try to sign them without penalty.

In a way they do. The niners are one of the top teams insuring contracts, and we indeed get cap $$ back

Good info, like the article says it's not talked about but the deferred cap could be helpful. If I read it correctly it's just for the next year. If they have it multiple years I'm guessing it carry's multiple years as well.
Was this really this year?

Fake. That has to be from 2024.. Aiyuk was on the PUP. He wouldn't have traveled to Vegas.

No I'm just wondering how long till he becomes a free agent.

I recall we got in trouble from the league for letting Aiyuk catch balls in the preseason. Wondering if this could be it.

It's real. Multiple people recorded him running routes on the field. Maiocco even reported that the 49ers could face a fine: "I don't know that that's allowed, to have a PUP player running routes and catching passes from the quarterback, whether it's at practice or in the game. So, maybe the 49ers will be hearing from the NFL on that one."

He's a big part of that $100 million in dead cap money that the 49ers have.

Oh gosh, I stand corrected. Totally forgot about this. That said.. Shoot.. I mean, if he was doing this in preseason, I don't see any reason he can't come back and make a rare recovery.

I wonder if there was any setback not reported.

He looks good in practice and in those clips, but that's far from real speed, cuts, pushing guys off him, etc... in real time / real games that's like a hotdog w/out the bun compared to a complete steak dinner with baked potato, salad, veggies, all the fixings

When he, Pearsall and BP can go all out / full speed in practice, then they can play, but Shanny even said they have to be 100 %

Not fake. Niners got in trouble for this. Can't have a player on PUP catching balls in practice.
