This might be bad, if you have a player on PUP practicing both the 9ers and Ayuik can be fined even a suspension can be applied

Maybe, the rule is you can't have them participating in camp but that's a fine line they are walking having him run routes pregame. Good to see him run like that though makes me think he might actually be ready for week 6

Don't understand Kyle's logic on this. He said it's a quick turnaround from week 4 to week 5. It is for the guys playing. How is it a quick turnaround for guys who have yet to play? If anything you'd think it would be the ideal time to play them. They could get extra rest after their 1st game of the season.

Maybe I'm missing something there.
I love what I see with Aiyuk lately, mentally and now this. He looks dialed in, I won't be surprised if he comes back ahead of schedule, as soon as he's eligible.

Because if he doesnt go on PUP and he's really ready at say week 4 you might as well let him rest since there isn't much time between those games in week 4 & 5. Sounds like they don't want him to push it too hard the first couple weeks back.

Basically they get to the date he can be activated, but because it's a short week he has less time to get up to speed for the first game, which would also mean he may be more likely to get injured again.

I'm not expecting him back this year so if he comes back at all it will be exciting
With the emergence of pearsall and kittle coming back, theres no rush to bring back aiyuk honestly
Not close means half way of the season or more like next year. The injury he had was always going to take him 2 years anyway. He had a very severe injury. ACL, MCL and other damage is not a minor or easy knee injury. To get his strength and speed back next year was more the target always. Don't count on him. Pearsall, CMC, Kittle and Jennings are enough. We have enough receivers. Some of them called RB or TE. But we have enough guys in the patterns. It's not our biggest problem. Being down Bosa now and fixing our offensive line are bigger issues IMO. The special teams stabilized out with the new kicker and return man. Defense seems better with some of the new rookies and younger players who have grown who are not rookies. But missing Bosa is huge.
"Not close" … seriously if that's the case they should have put him season ending ir. Him coming back at the end of the year is pointless for the niners. He would have not played in 1.5 years, basically useless at the end of the year as he will need ramp up time as well.

I mean this isn't surprising, nor does it really make a difference. BA was never going to help the 49ers much this season.

The 49ers really need Watkins to get on the field and show that he can perform like he did in camp. Then you can reevaluate the WR room in the offseason with Pearsall and possibly Watkins as the foundational players moving forward.
