Why not, if players can use the transfer portal in college why not create a defacto transfer portal in the NFL in the form of trade requests?

Maybe we should have traded Deebo straight up for TM? Probably would have been better then the 5th rounder?

There was no way the 49ers were dealing for McLaurin, he's owed nearly $16M this year, and he wants a new deal, the 49ers aren't & better not give another WR anywhere near what they've given out $23M to Deebo, $30M to Aiyuk, and McLaurin apparently wants $30M or more a year, had we traded for him, he would have just held out and then hold in like he is doing now.

BA's cap hit this year is <$10M and next year is ~$15M ... it jumps to ~$40M in 2027 after they have an out. The whole "$30M a year" thing was agent marketing and only applies if BA is basically the best WR in the NFL in 2026.

The dude is a baller. There's no debate about that from me.

Don't disagree with the sentiment..I hope he can but that hope is undermined by a complete lack of expectation. I truly expect nothing from Aiyuk moving forward, he blew his knee up in multiple ways and his position and style of play are completely predicated on a young, healthy knee vs a rehabbed, reconstructed bulkier one.

Anything better than nothing is where my barometer of hope is at but once the severity of that injury came out, I immediately wrote off his career and thought of Bowman. And Bowman wasn't even a WR.

That was one good knee ago.
I expect BA to be a shell of himself this season like most guys who come back from an injury midseason. His conditioning will be trash and he'll probably be dealing with pain and swelling most of the season and will be slower and less fluid.

For all intents and purposes, BA is out for the season.

Yeah I mean he could very well go the route of AP, Gronk, Goodwin, Hockenson etc who all had similar injuries.

for me he doesn't have to look like the video above the moment he steps back on the field, just that he can get back to that play. Everything we've read so far is there hasn't been any major setback which is a good sign.

Agree. Realistically it almost always takes a year to have a chance to be close to 100%, and BA is almost certain to be gone for 2027 regardless, so he's going to be going as hard as he can for his next contract.

Wish he'd just be humble and show it when the time comes. He's playing a dangerous game here. He's already under tremendous scrutiny. He can't go a month without flexing or telling fans to stfu. If he's posting stuff like this and doesn't deliver, the scrutiny is only going to get worse. He's already shown he has thin skin.
I don't see this being good either way. Hes either going to be even more disgruntled and frustrated with fans when they call him out, or he's going to have a I told yall f yall attitude. At least thats what all his media posts elude to
