Actually had a bounce back year but you can tell he wasn't quite the same and fizzled out shortly after

Marcus Latimore RB 2012
Never really had a chance to see him in the NFL but he was a superstar in college never was the same

Nick Chubb RB 2023
Looks like his career is over, came back in 2024 only rushing for 330 yards in 8 games averaging 3.3 yards per carry

T.J Hockenson TE 2023
Returned middle of last year and had 450 yards 0 TDs through 10 games in his return

Rob Gronkowski TE 2013
Was able to return and still be dominant, he played more like a Frankenstein with power and contesting catches with his big body so it might have not affected him as much having Tom Brady probably helped as well

Adrain Peterson RB 2011
Now this is the only glimpse of hope of seeing a player coming back at 100%. Not only was he back week won but rushed for 2100 yards 12tds almost breaking the single season rushing record and winning nfl mvp,

Honestly looking at this list isn't very hopeful AP is a literal freak of a human, I thought he only tore his ACL that season. Also Ayuik tore his meniscus on top of the ACL/MCL

Some of these guys literally had their entire knee fall apart. These are not the same. Hell just for fun let's throw Tank Dell in there.

Somehow the internet has equated a straightforward ACL and MCL (healed in November) tear with actual leg amputation.

The NFL needs to start the new season in April because the offseason content gets worse by the year.

It's the same injury without the meniscus some might be more severe tears wish we knew that aspect idk who tank dell is. I didn't just pull these names out of thin air it's the only players I can find in correlation to Ayuiks talent that tried coming back.

Not saying he'll never play again he'll be trash may as well have his leg amputated just trying to give some insight. Don't think his career is over not even saying he'll be bad but I doubt he will be the same. What sucks is we'll probably have to wait till 2026 to truly know

Supposedly he'll be ready to go by week 1 this season. We don't have the details of the structure yet, but the topline reporting is 26M guaranteed. Wouldn't be surprised if it's backloaded with some 2026 compensation guaranteed as part of that 26M.

He tore 3 ligaments in his knee and there were reports of additional nerve damage. Again, where did you see this about the MCL healing? He had surgery on both ligaments in November, saw nothing about it being healed

While a single torn ligament is usually a relatively straightforward repair, recovering from an "unhappy triad" injury could add some complications for Aiyuk. While he's obviously out for the rest of the 2024 season, the full injury may raise questions about Aiyuk's chances to be fully healthy in time for the start of 2025.

We all better hope if he's traded that it's for a day 2 pick at minimum.

If we trade Aiyuk for a day 3 pick just to clear that money I will expect this team to blow up very soon and the folks hoping that Kyle/John are gone will get their way sooner rather than later.

Because that will tell me Jed/Paraag are making football decisions now and bad ones. I can't see Kyle and/or John wanting to stick around once the owner and money guy push their weight around where you're selling off your best WR1 in decades for way below value just to clear $.

The only reason to unload Aiyuk via trade is to avoid the 51.875M in spending that is guaranteed through 2026. I keep seeing people bring up day 2 or early day 3 compensation for Aiyuk. They won't get that. I don't think they would even get a late day 3 pick in 2025. Late day 3 conditional 2027 pick is probably what they'll get.
No one will want to take that contract for a receiver that got his knee shredded because in that case drafting a receiver in the 2nd round is much more convenient.

But the question is will Aiyuk return to form as our #1?

I can't see it being next year that's forsure

Yes it is. Which makes no sense if they were to give up draft capital for an even more injured player. The only exception I see is if we cave and give Aiyuk up for day 3 picks.

Also theres this...

I mean its not too outlandish to say he has a chance.

Idk how people keep comparing a ACL/MCL/Meniscus to an ACL. From what I've read yes he might be running come week one but there is no reason to rush him back making hard cuts taking 30 reps a game.

Not only does he have to do the brutal rehabilitation of that injury but he needs time to work his routes again to sense where he's at and be comfortable with his reconstructed knee before he hits the field.

like did you even read the tweet.... "Granted it's not an apples to apples comparison but interesting to note" lol..... not once did it mention rushing him back...

Referencing both tweets, 1st said optimistic by week 1 then you posted Diggs recovery in comparison to Ayuik which seems unfair to compare the two. It would be a miracle if Ayuik hit the field week 1 ready to go

In the diggs tweet it addresses that its not apples to apples comparison and at the end of the day its not outlandish or far fetched to say that Wk1 is a possibility. It also didn't mention forcing him to rush back again as a reminder.
