For one thing, no one is going to give us the trade value we want based on the fact that he is recovering from a serious injury. We would be lucky to get a 4th, if that. Once he is recovered, and if he is playing even close to what he did in 2023, he would be worth a 2nd or low 1. Of course, if he was playing at that level, we would not trade him. So, there it is.

His attitude is a definite reason. I doubt anyone is inquiring about him with a 4th rdee in mind. A culture change is needed.

I'm not trading Aiyuk for pennies on the dollar. You had the tough negotiations last offseason that hurt us and he's signed. You paid him for a reason.

He's easily our best WR in years and even when rusty he was key to helping our offense. Guys come back from injuries all the time. He's only 26 years old with modern science and rehab methods.

You don't leave the team devoid of talent when this WR class isn't even very good. Would be a super reactionary and bad move to trade him.
You value Aiyuk way more than I do,I see him as an above average WR that greatly benefitted from the talent around him.

He's a huge diva coming off a serious injury and may never be the same and will probably never come remotely close to living up to his contract the bad move was not moving on from him last year.

He got over paid and may never be the same. We can ship him out. He never was a top 5 WR in the game. Even pre injury.

Aiyuk is damaged goods, hand him off to some team who will give us whatever.

It will never happen. The reason is that it would result in $18.4M in dead money and a loss of $7.6M in cap space.

One can dream, can't he?

TBH, I would move off him if we could get value. His attitude about the negotiations put him on my "Get rid of..." list. Of course, there are other considerations.

Yeah, agree he's on my s**t list, too. I'd take a 7th for him, but that knee and that contract make it an impossibility to get anyone to take him.

He's one of those mini divas.

Maybe the knee, but thst contract increases his trade value.

I don't see the rush in wanting to get Aiyuk out, especially with Deebo gone. I think he can be complimented if we can somehow get another borderline #1 or somehow get a bonafide #1 and have him be a solid #2. Who knows how much his injury took away from him but if we can get 2023 BA back plus another actual receiver who can beat man... That's enough. Especially with George and CMC hopefully fully healthy.

random but one of my pet peeves: people using complimentary instead of complementary, as these are two very different words.

I just don't see any team giving anything for BA. To begin with the 49ers messed up last year giving him what he wanted, they should have traded him. This deal is going to haunt them for several years. No way a team trades for him.
Why not just let him come back later in the season, prove himself then trade him next offseason season if that's what they want.
If he can get healthy again and produce his value would be much greater.

But what if he comes back and plays like a 1300 yard type WR? I think people are forgetting that BA is a damn good player. One that we even heard that the staff thought was still ascending

I don't get the huge diva thing. When did we have any problems with BA before the contract stuff last year? He never complained about not getting the ball enough. He never causes issues off the field. He blocked his ass off and he always ran his routes without being lazy.

People need to disassociate the contract stuff with the rest of what he's done for us. I get it, it's hard to see a guy who talked all that "I'm a Lambo/Ferrari" talk and seeing him play like a Corolla then get into an accident….

Lots of uncertainty with a serious injury but if you put the contract and injury aside and just look at the film you see a guy who is right up there with some of the best in the game in route running, blocking and playing the overall game. On a team that would feed him the ball 150+ times a season he's putting up killer numbers.

You see a guy benefiting from the talent around him, I see a guy who isn't producing as much cuz of that talent and our ability to spread the ball around. I also see a guy who impacts coverage when he's on the field that isn't there with JJ and Kittle alone.
