Am I missing something? Aiyuk's contract is basically a two year contract where the cap hits are generous and we have the option to cut/trade/extend before his cap hit gets out of control.
Feels like a couple of teams asked the question and its been blown out of proportion.

What bad vibes? We're about to give Brock Purdy a nice contract extension, make kittle a niner for life, add some talent on defense in free agency and the draft. This aiyuk trade nonsense is just that a bunch of a nonsense coming from people who have nothing to talk about in the off-season. Lynch has openly said that they are willing to listen to trade offers for any player. And unless the compensation is a haul the niners are not trading aiyuk and are expecting him to be a big contributor to our massive superbowl run this season

It wouldn't serve any team attempting to trade for Aiyuk to release that information to national NFL reporters. Someone gives them information that they believe is credible to publish.

Overreactions much? They just said they are open and listening to what's out there, doing it is another story. And yes, contract talk as we enter Brock negations as well. BA be a tough trade but not impossible. We will see what shakes out but I wouldn't think too much of it for the time being.

Tim Kawakami first reported the team regretted extending BA, and now, we've got Mike Silver--a guy who is clearly connected to the org--confirming that. There's too much smoke now to pretend that it's just about teams inquiring.

Yea I think it matters quite a lot if your scenario is correct. If Paraag is pissed about a contract and had to 'cave' to Lynch and Shanahan, that's not a good sign for Lynch and Shanahan.

I's a long way from saying they're open to trading someone and actually getting a deal done. When there's ths much money involved it's even harder.

I don't find dissension in the ranks about contracts and finances, a bunch of dead money on current contracts, no real positive outcome from moving/cutting Deebo, both WR that just signed new deals being discussed as on the move, rumblings greenlaw isn't coming back, no guarantees on purdy negotiation's, griese leaving, to be particularly positive vibes .

Paraag has been pissed about losing contract negotiations due to Lynch/Shanahan involvement for years, and Jed extended both Lynch/Shanahan. Paraag leaked that heads were gonna roll if the team didn't win this past season, yet here we are.

Of course they regret it, he didn't play well and then got a serious injury.
I'm sure they regret the Deebo restructure about now as well.
Doesn't change the fact his contract is good value IF he comes back healthy and it makes zero sense to take the cap hit on Aiyuk on top of Deebo and Hargraeves when there's a clear out in his contract.

Lots of assumptions in these two sentences.

So if I am reading it right, if he's a post 6/1 trade they save 6.5 in cap space, eat 4mil in dead cap this year and 13 next year

Again, assuming that's correct:
Paraag and Jed might as well be a single entity as far as our organization is concerned. If there's any kind of power struggle internally between Paraag, Kyle, and John, Paraag is going to survive it.
