This is a big contract for Aiyuk. I, like many, have become salty on him over the past weeks because of his antics. However, since Purdy has come on, Aiyuk has been the person the team would most likely pair with Purdy over the next 3-5 years, where greats like Kittle, Deebo, and Trent may not be on this team in the next year or two as difficult as that concept is. This season is all about Purdy establishing himself as the true number 1 franchise QB. If he keeps playing like he has, then he will do this, which we know means he is getting freaking paid. It does make sense to keep Aiyuk because his skill set matches what Purdy does so well. Deebo really fit what Jimmy did well (or didn't do well). If Purdy is the guy, and gets the contract, we are going to have to get used to losing really good players we drafted and developed, just like NE did and KC Is doing. The future is all about Purdy - Aiyuk fits that. Let's hope this year's draft class is as good as it seems. They also better knock next year's draft out of the park too.But part of the team's calculus was clearly keeping Aiyuk. Next season will work itself out.

No it's not. He got a lot more upfront money. Why don't you ever pay attention lol

Aiyuk's agent.
Our team shouldn't have put that info out, but whatever… deal is done.

Brandon Aiyuk is Brock Purdy's favourite receiver.
So this is good news for Brock Purdy.

A talented young WR who is are talented young QBs favorite target. WR position just went from a huge question mark to one of deepest rosters in the NFL. Now if only Trent would get his ass to practice and honor the contract he signed we would be cooking.

I think they are that bad at PR at times. And in the end, this is a he said- she said situation.
Way more people will see Schefter's tweet.
Moving on.

This is good news for the whole team. Offense just got better and we have a tough defense week 1.
still have big 71 as our first order of business but I do feel like this helps alleviate some of the neg press and atmosphere for the players heading into the season.
Idc what anyone says - when your top players are holding out - it impacts the guys there. They get asked questions about it, they know they aren't as good without them, their presence is missed. It's a big deal than the team/players will let on.
