Lombardi is saying the Niners won, because Bosa got his done a day before the season (Lombardi said Bosa won his negotiation) started and Aiyuk caved earlier.

They leaked information over the length of this negotiation too. It's not a bad thing IMO. It's just normal business.

Either way, there's no chance Aiyuk and his agent are leaking the idea that his tactics (hold in etc) didn't work, lol.
This was posted today by that Steelers idiot Fittipaldo.

Fittipaldo: 80% Chance Steelers Acquire Brandon Aiyuk

https://steelersdepot.com/2024/08/fittipaldo-80-chance-steelers-acquire-brandon-aiyuk/

The trade rumors surrounding San Francisco 49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk feel endless. At this point, it doesn't seem as if anyone knows where things are headed, but if Aiyuk is traded, the Pittsburgh Steelers remain a likely destination for him. Ray Fittipaldo of the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette believes that Aiyuk will end up in Pittsburgh, putting the odds that Aiyuk is traded to the Steelers at 80%.

"It seems like it's coming to a head. If I had to put a percentage on it, if it's gonna happen, the Steelers are pretty much the only team left standing, so I would say at this point, 80/20 that it happens," Fittipaldo said on The PM Team on 93.7 The Fan.

He also said landing Aiyuk could be the "first domino" for the Steelers before they look to improve their current 53-man roster, so it sounds as if he anticipates a trade happening in the coming days.

With training camp and the preseason over and rosters set, now is the time when teams really start to ramp up for the start of the season. Aiyuk has been absent from 49ers practice the last two days, even with the team expecting him to practice yesterday. That could wind up being the straw that breaks the camel's back when it comes to the 49ers potentially dealing Aiyuk. If he is traded, he's expressed that he could see himself playing in Pittsburgh.

Not gonna happen if the Sauce is covering him. He's a generational corner
sauce hasn't covered anyone like Aiyuk before

9ers won this easy.
I'm gona stay salty with this guy until it starts looking like another All Pro season from him. God forbid he starts out slow or has a down year after this fiasco.

It's much easier for me to stomach with Trent being a future first ballot HOF'er and Nick being a super star immediately upon entering the league.

Aiyuk is good but he is neither of those and it's not even close.

He's paid, and paid very well, to get open and make plays.

Question for the board: Do you think Aiyuk is worth $30M annually, same as St. Brown?
Does it sound about right that he is being paid $5M less, annually, than CeeDee Lamb?

No, I do not. I thought a good comp was DJ Moore at 110mil over 4 years.(27.5mil)

But I guess in the grand scheme of things, thats 2.5 mil difference a year for Aiyuk vs DJ Moore. That's basically a scrub player.

9ers won this easy.

49ers probably won at $30 million. Because he was pushing for $34 million. In a few years the WR market will be $42 million or something. Aiyuk will look like a good deal. But the only problem then is Aiyuk will want to hold out again. Just like TW. A signed contract means nothing to these guys.

I'm sure they would be the side that leaked there were agreed upon trade terms and contact offers from teams like the Pats and Browns, but Aiyuk wouldn't sign extension(s) allowing for the trade

It shifts any focus or pressure on to Aiyuk's side. You could see fan sentiment shift with those reports.

I mentioned earlier that looking at this as a who won or lost game is dumb. They came to an agreement both sides are happy with. It's win-win until something goes sideways.
