Conley coud pretty easily fill in for Aiyuk, prolly get over 1k yards easy with Purdy.

Let's not act like we aren't better with BA than without.

we will still be a really good offense without him but he is good. If we don't resign him, and he won't play, we will be fine. Just maybe not the #1 O anymore.

I personally think we won't be able to resign him now but who knows. It isn't that I think BA is better than Lamb, I think BA thinks he's as good or so. So I think BA will want more guaranteed money now and $32M a year. I don't see the team doing that.

tbh, I'd rather we throw some of the money at Trent and then resign Demo/Ward. Extend Deebo and hopefully Pearsall/Cowing can be good. That or Aiyuk actually plays on his fifth year and we just tag/trade him next year.

Yeah, we're better with him than without. This season No doubt. But that's not the problem attempting to be solved. The question now is is BA at $28+ a better value for us than one of our rookies at their price tag.

the answer was simple for ceedee, Jefferson, and in my opinion even Jamar. For us, it's not that simple at all.

i know you know all this… im just saying words to break up my work day 🤣🤣

my opinion: I'd make him take a team friendly deal or hang on to him at $14, tag and trade him next offseason. We aren't operating in a vacuum… we drafted another receiver that, theoretically, should be a better investment over the long haul.

58 YPG to get 1k now

3 catches a game will get close to that YPG avg

Chubb out for CLE for 4 weeks.

Now my dream scenario for packing Aiyuk + Mitchell for one of their stud OTs + Cooper + pick(s) would have made more sense.

Damn.

If that were the case, why didn't he take the NE deal?

yeah, in todays game and rules - getting 1k really shouldn't be heralded like it used to be. extra game, favorable rules to the passing game, defenses have their hands tied.

it's a cool accomplishment but I don't think that means you're elite like it used to. I think it means you're above average for the most part (case by case scenario). I'd like to see the elite guys have 1300+ for a handful of seasons in a row.

probably a touch of delusion.....

At this point, I firmly believe BA never wanted to be traded. I think this was all a ruse to get the most money possible from the 49ers. In that sense, though I do not agree with the way BA has gone about it, I get it. I can't fault the man for trying to maximize his worth, especially given the limited opportunities to do so in the NFL.

That being said, at this point I think he has backed himself into a corner. I think the 49ers are over it. They want him, no doubt about it, but they won't be held hostage. At least I hope not.

Time will tell. I can't see a scenario where a rational BA sits out and loses money. I can see BA being irrational about the situation and sitting out, though. For better or worse, I think his future is in red and gold.
Anyone think the 9ers are playing a little game of chicken and with roster cuts being tomorrow, hoping that the Steelers pull the trigger on a WR from elsewhere effectively taking them out of the running. Now it leaves BA with only one option that being SF and it gets BA closer to their number? Just a thought

playing chicken..? he either signs or sits
Will be interesting to see what happens to all the teams salary caps that have a $30 million receiver

That's more with the Steelers. It eliminates another option for Aiyuk (which was probably stupid of SF to give him)

Sam Darnold slinging the rock to JJ

i doubt that was even an option. We just picked up the phone and listened.. nothing more
Great, another WR record with Lamb around $34m a year and $100m guaranteed. That should add another week or two to the plan
