I think he deserves to get paid and not play on the 5th year. There's tons of precedent for this. This isn't a Ja'marr Chase situation where he is on the fourth year of a five-year deal.

That being said, he is also getting bad advice. His chances of earning a 3rd contract after this one drop extremely low if you go to the Steelers or any other bad spot. Here he will have a guaranteed role on a good team and put up numbers that allow him to hit FA again in 3-4 years.

He also has to understand the constraints of the salary cap and how keeping a competitive team with stars around him benefits everyone as a whole.

Who said he's getting paid like Lamb and JJ? Those guys are gonna make more than him. I don't even think he's asking for that type of cash either.

I do think he's at that Moore/ASB level though and that's what he should be getting. IMO he's got Adams level upside.

also yeah it kinda is an all in yr with this current roster. Gotta keep the young guns because you can't continue to pay the old ones, just how the NFL works.
