I hope Hurd and Taylor are healthy and ready to rock... this may be a deep receiver class but im not a fan of spending high picks on WR 3 years in a row (maybe if we trade out of 31)

1. A good zone blocking C/G bc our interior ol allowing pressures has been a problem for so many years

2. A Starting safety that can actually make plays to either replace ward or challenge him for the starting job. If we keep Ward since we have Moore this priority probably drops one spot and corner becomes a more pressing issue.

3. A cb bc Sherman has 2 to 3 years left imo and Moseley is a great number 2 that plays better than some starting ones

4. A wr that has speed and preferably size. If we keep Sanders which I think we will (since we have up a 3rd and 4th got back a fifth) this is not a huge priority. Especially with Hurd and Taylor all but guaranteed a spot.

Let's hope they prioritize this because we haven't had good inside pass protection since Jeff Garcia was at quarterback
we need to stop losing in the super bowl.

This is the correct answer to moving this offense to the next level.

Current Salary Cap Space: $11.58M
Remaining Salary Cap Space Needed: $36M (includes -$11.58M and Kittle/Buckner extension differences in 2020 APY and outlined deals below; does not include rookie cap pool)

Per AB (Jason Hurley) at 49erscap , we could save $36M with contract restructures:
The 49ers will likely look into restructures, namely Jimmy Garoppolo, Joe Staley, and Dee Ford. They'd save over $19 million with a Garoppolo restructure, over $10 million with a Ford restructure, and over $7 million with a Staley restructure.

Exclusive Rights Free Agents are tendered at league minimum, so $660K for Dwelley, Wilson, and Mullens, and $585K for Moseley and Brunskill, none of them have any chance of leaving, they can't negotiate with outside teams.

Got it.

And this is from MM on Breida, a Restricted FA. Don't these figures go up a bit each year?

The low tender is $2.144 million for one year. If another team signs him to an offer sheet and the 49ers decline to match, they would receive no compensation. The only way the 49ers would receive compensation is if they extend a qualifying offer of $3.278 million (second-round pick) or $4.667 million (first-round pick).

Total APY: $11.5M

Total 2020 Contracts APY: $39.4M

Current Salary Cap Space: $12.7M
Remaining Salary Cap Space Needed: $26.7M

Notes: So it looks like the FO still needs to clear $26M to keep Armstead but not Sanders or Ward while also extending Kittle and Buckner. And Lynch said they are done restructuring contracts for the year. And this might be why - there is a prominent theory that on top of the annual $10M added to team's cap space, with the new CBA, there will be an additional $30M on top of that for 2021. That means the FO could push contracts out to future years spread out over the life of the contract while lowering the caps hits this year to get under the team cap (i.e. Armstead). It also means, the extra $11.5M needed to extend Kittle/Buckner this year, could be pushed to 2021 as well. Kittle is expected to reset the TE market and Buckner will be top 3 paid DT anyhow, meaning, their value won't go up any higher waiting a year if needed. We're also in better cap space for 2021 anyhow and have many options to create extra room (i.e. if Ford's knee is done, save $12.8M on his release). If the FO pushes the Kittle and Buckner deals to 2021, that may mean they'll be able to keep either Ward or Sanders this year. Either way, the FO still needs to clear extra cap space between $15M-$26M and that does not include the rookie pool. Below is how they could do this. I'm unsure on their next move here. Tagging Arik Armstead at the Exclusive ($21M) or Non-Exclusive ($19M) does not seem like a viable option as there is no guarantee to find a trade partner and if he signs, the team is stuck with the high cap figure, meaning the FO would need to scramble to clear additional cap space.
