Yorks can't win the big game. And they only once in a while get to the big game by sucking for so long they stockpile high 1st round picks and eventually get better as a result. They go through cycles if being so bad for so long they get good again. The Yorks "good" is good enough to get you a big game loss.

Ok you're blaming the York's and yes we all know they were bad but what did you want Jed to do to win this SB? Or what do you expect from them? Did you want them to start getting in between football decisions again?

The difference between the ownerships now, is that Eddie could buy a championship.

Now you have to get the right people in place, and then get some luck.

The difference is in the believe systems.

Eddie D had Montana and Young on the same team. York's couldn't possibly have Jimmy G and Mahomes on the same team. So they allow their GM to go out and draft his friend from Stanford instead.

Result: Jimmy isn't pushed by Mahomes the way Montana was by Young.

Oh, and guess who comes back to beat you in the super bowl?

You can only get so far with the York family. Whether it be Jed, Denise or John. They can get you some NFC Championship trophies. But that's as far as it goes. You are not going to win the Super Bowl with that. Eddie Debartolo can win you the Super Bowl. Winning the NFC is not where he stops.

This is about the time the Yorks get into fights with people and don't want to pay raises or extensions (not even sure they deserve it to be honest). Then dismantle the team for a Ron Jeremy look alike. I mean come on here lets be honest. The Yorks have absolutely sucked for 90% of 20 years. They sometimes get so bad for so long that they get enough high draft picks in a row to turn it around. But they can get you a loss in the NFC Championship or a loss in the Super Bowl. But going beyond that? I just don't see it. They got a coach who doesn't know how to play call in the 4th quarter of the Super Bowl and proved it twice. With Atlanta and with the 49ers too. He goes away from his strength and best opportunity to win. He plays to his weakness in the end.

So what are we going to do here? I don't see how you can win with them. They best you can hope for is to win the NFC. That only happens after being so bad for so long they stockpile enough high first round picks to make that happen. Which they actually did twice. I just don't see them taking the next step. I doubt very much that they win a Super Bowl.

It's cos they didn't wear the throwbacks both times

Transfer the team back to Eddie Debartolo. You can win the Super Bowl with Eddie D. Yorks have never won anything in 20 years. The NFL can now reinstate Eddie D. The crime has now been removed.

Time to win the Super Bowl again instead of keeping on losing them.

This totally needed its own thread. How else was I supposed to know DeBartolo was 5-0 and York was 0-2?

BTW, DeBartolo tried to fire Bill Walsh like 12 times, so we really have John McVay and Carmen Policy to thank for our dynasty, because they always talked him out of it.

The NFL only suspended Eddie for 1 year. He chose to keep the family business and gave up the 49ers. Obviously his sister isn't going to gift it back, considering what the franchise is worth now.
