"Something has to be said about the Niners. They're success is misleading. They played a very light schedule and had little competition in a soft NFC this year. They're more like paper tigers than a cat that's actually dangerous. Still a good team, sure. But not a real threat to this high octane Chiefs team. Not even close."

I guess us having one of the toughest 2nd half schedules doesn't count. On top of the fact that the Vikings and Packers > Texans and Titans.

This is too good.

To quote Keena Turner from America's Game 1984, once a QB gets hit enough I don't care who he is, he becomes ordinary.

I wouldn't compare a statue to one of the most dynamic QB's in the NFL who also happens to be cerebral. Mahomes is no joke.

Mahomes is better than Dan Marino now?

No he's not. My point is that they are dangerous in very different ways. Marino was elusive within the pocket. Mahomes is in his element outside the pocket when the play starts to breakdown.

I didn't see your comment until now, yours is reasonable and I agree. The one I replied to is implying that Mahomes is superior to Marino which is a joke. Mahomes will literally have to have the game of his life to beat this defense. Even then our offense can still outscore them. I just don't see how we lose this game, aside from being -2 or worse in the turnover battle.

Wow. The implication wasn't that Mahomes is superior. It was that Mahomes is not Marino in that he is mobile and is successful using a different style. So the comparison of playing a game vs Marino is not the same as playing a game vs Mahomes in terms of defensive strategy.

You implied NONE of that with your comment. You responded to someone saying that we're facing another QB who everyone is saying is "unstoppable." This narrative has been pushed many times in history, and great defenses have found ways to win. We will too.

Just wow.

Game 1: 24-17
Mahomes: 19-32, 182 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT
Mahomes: 5 CAR, 59 YDS

Game 2: 31-21
Mahomes: 16-25, 174 YDS, 1 TD, 1 INT
Williams: 12 CAR, 124 YDS, 2 TD
Mahomes 7 CAR, 21 YDS

Maybe Joey Bosa will share what his team knows of the Chiefs.
I still think Maholmes is not the even close to be the best in terms of reading defense. He is, however, exceptionally dangerous when escape from the pocket.

If the Niners D can keep Maholmes inside the pocket and while doing that, apply reasonable pressure on Maholmes, I think the KC offense will be slowed down tremendously. That is obviously a big IF.

My concern is even if the defense is discipline, Maholmes will still occasionally get away from the pass rush and escape from the pocket, that is when KC can get the chunk plays.

But overall, this defense doesn't need to completely shut down KC. It just need to slow down KC enough. Our offense should score plenty of points.

I guess KC D can say the same thing about our offense. You blink and Mostert is taking it to the house.
One thing people aren't taking into consideration: Andy Reid's a choker. He's considered Marty Schottenheimer 2.0 for a reason.
Supposedly, the Texans had a great front 4 that was going to pressure Mahomes- they were gassed at the end and ineffective most of the game.

Titans were supposed to be run stuffers and Physical, but Mahomes had up to 9 seconds to throw on some plays and they never touched his jersey.

Big boy Bosa has never done s**t against the Chiefs and I doubt his little queer brother will do much either. https://www.chiefsplanet.com/BB/showthread.php?t=328296&page=78

"A soft NFC" LMAOOOOO
that might be the most ignorant, off the mark, horrible statement every. The AFC was garbage this year. The pats were a shell of themselves, Miami was almost a meme all year long, the Bengals are getting the #1 pick, Lamar and the Ravens went full potato, TENN was completely one dimensional, Watson was sacked more than the opening filmakers of Monty Python and the Holy Grail, the Bills were just not a well rounded team and their QB is in the bottom 1/3 of the league, Browns were a joke, Broncos were sadly underwhelming, the Raiders were bad and yet were still in the mix, Steelers couldn't keep QB's from getting hit with helmets, the Jets were LOL bad.
The NFC, the packers, Saints, Seahawks, Vikings, even Rams, Bucs, Cowboys, Eagles were all better than the majority of the AFC.
