The tables have turned???? That was when Young was just passed his prime, and we could argue Rodgers is now as well. Favre was up and coming, and now so is Jimmy G

Sorry but the only history repeating thing that's happening this year is 1981 season.

Colon Coward really laying it on Rodgers today, totally bashing him, it almost seems like he's trying to motivate him, daring him to be great.

Yeah, he almost tricked me into thinking he was actually supporting the Niners for once, but after hearing him today, it's clear he's hoping Rodgers dashes our dreams.

Florio's column this Friday morning states that the 49ers victory over the Pack on Nov. 24 was closer than the final score. The Niners were up 23-0 at the half. If this wasn't a beat down I don't know what is.

Just read that. He's trying sooo hard.

Listened to Warren Sharp this AM, who is an analytical guru he put out three nuggets on SF vs GB ya'll are gonna love this

-GB is one of the worst teams in the NFL defending the middle of the field. Guess who uses the middle of the field more than any team in the NFL? SF. Guess who has the highest success rate? SF

-GB is one of the worst teams in football defending pre-snap motion. Guess who uses it more than any team in the NFL? SF. Guess who has the highest success rate running off pre-snap motion? SF

-GB is one of the worst teams off of play-action in the NFL over the course of the 2nd half of the season. Guess who has one of the highest success rates off of play-action? Yeah you know...SF. Also their pass rush sack rate off play-action is...drum roll...0% lol.

He tied this into last weeks game vs Seattle and how successful they were when throwing to the middle of the field, using pre-snap motion, and play-action...thing is they hardly used any of that (dummies) also talked about how much success SF had vs GB the first time doing these things.

So in conclusion, if SF does basically what they've done all yr we're in a good spot

Nice. When it comes to the Packers DL, it's going to be strength on strength with the two Smith's vs Staley/McG, I'll take that as both OTs for the 49ers are playing well.
As far as attacking the middle of the field, if Packers overcompensate for this, then 49ers need to be ready.
0% sacks on playaction is crazy. I guess those two Smith guys only get sacks when it's an obvious passing situation. One way to prevent that is not be in '3rd and pass it'.
49ers will win because:
1 they have the better defense
2 they have the better running game
3 they have the better coach
4 they're playing at home
5 they played tougher schedule
6 they beat a better playoff team*
7 Pack are 2-4 over all in playoffs since 2012
8 Pack are 5-23 against winning teams on the road since 2012
9 Pack is 2-7 in games played in the Pacific Time Zone since 2012.
10 Rodgers is 3-28 when trailing at half on the road vs winning team

* 49ers decisively beat MN who, the week before, went into NO and won.
The Pack barely got by SEA who, the week before, barley beat an injured high school coach at QB in Philly.
If not for the cheap shot by Clowney knocking out Wentz PHI would have beat SEA.

My prediction: 49ers 30 Pack 17

Like you stated, if Packers want to trot out a dime look, the 49ers will force them out of it by putting in Juice and Kittle. If the Packers insist on matching that with Dime, then the 49ers pound the rock.

This is who Pettine has always been. Historically his defenses excel against the pass and struggle vs the run. Should be another heavy dose of running the football.

Yeah add in misdirections/play-action, plus how fast they get the ball out...I'm just seeing a clear advantage for us

Reading this it seems like the 49ers don't have a chance

I mean it's a GB article. They're gonna be bias their fans are the ones who read it
The article cites a lot of stats, the problem with those stats are that they were generated by playing against crap competition vs who the 49ers played. I think at one point the 49ers played 3 straight teams with 10+ wins (or something like that) vs green bay who played teams bordering a .500 record. The article is mixing apples and oranges as far as I'm concerned.

I'd rather Jimmy not have 3 INT's and 2 fumbles though. But if the game ends with another "catch" moment, I'll take it. Lol
