Yeah, but why trade to Dallas of all teams. Why not the the browns? They should have got him the help and been patient. That s**t cost us 92 and 93. If Dallas doesn't have Haley they would not have been as good period. Still contenders, but not as good. That's like trading Bosa to the Packers or Seattle.

Just need Bosa to take a swing at Shanny, piss on DeFo's car, and masturbate in front of Pettis before that happens.

Yeah, trade him out of conference or something. But, no it had to be Dallas, who we faced in the NFCCG it seemed like every year.

Does anyone know what was Seifert's reasoning for trading Haley to Dallas? Was he senile or what? I wasn't old enough to remember.

Pettis would like that, I'm sure.

this makes no sense tbh

if there's someone you should be mad at it's bill walsh. he traded for steve and then promised him he'd start. being upset because a player wants to play is, odd...

I know it maybe odd, but it's just how I felt at the time and even as time has passed, I still have the same strong feelings about it.

. IMO it should've been called back and further looked into. That was b******t!!!

I thought so at the time too but his back foot never crossed by the time he let go of the ball so it was legit

I disagree.

So do I....respectfully. To me, it looks like Wilson was clearly a yard across the LOS when he released that ball. Don't look at the artificial line....look at the actual LOS where the ball was actually snapped.

The marker was on the 14. The center placed the ball behind that. I'm not sure of the specifics of the rule but Wilson was not completely past the marker when he threw the ball.

(There were also 2 holds and the play clock was at 00)

Dallas wasn't quite the powerhouse at the time. Remember that back then it was hard to rise organically like it is now and the cowboy dynasty was hard to foresee outside of Dallas bc of those ten million picks they received for Herschel Walker.

Still think you trade elite players out of conference or maybe scrub teams like the Bucs were back then.

I understand the sentiment then, but not now. Walsh even said to many players he only wants their best years and will trade them when they've only got one or two good years left. That's literally what happened with Montana.

Sure, Steve wanted to start. Any player worth a darn should have the fiery competitiveness. But ultimately he's not the one who decides who plays; that's the coach. The hate on Young here is unwaranted. You should be directing it to the man himself, Bill Walsh.

Or, George Siefert who ultimately traded Montana to make way for Young. But, your probably right I should be directing my hate to Walsh. Still, I never liked Young for his role in all of this.

Sadly, it's what made Walsh a genius though. Moving on from the GOAT was never going to be easy, no matter how it happened.
Bill Walsh once said, 'It's better to get rid of a player a year early rather than a year too late.'

Am I high or did Lynch have a bad game. Why are Hawks fans saying otherwise?

Because they're delusional. He had back to back carries of 8 and 15 yards. Otherwise he ran it 10 times for 11 yards.

Plus he created the hesitation that caused the delay of game. He was told his day was done because he didn't know the 2 minute offense. Then they changed plans when they got to the 1, and there was confusion about getting his helmet and going back in.

The irony of his presence partially being responsible for the loss is amazing. All week they made a big deal about it, when in reality the Niners were much happier to see him get those extra 12 carries instead of Homer, who looked a lot better.

Yup...outside of the two runs he was a liability and not a help.

Confusion at the end causing the HUGE delay of game penalty and getting stopped on 4th and 1 and all the other runs for nothing of substance far outweigh the two decent runs he had and the leaping TD.

We'll see how he does in the next game. More time with the team could help but could also continue to show he should've stayed retired.

What did Steve Young do to mayo lol.

He muscled his way to the starting job over Joe. It's personal.

So he was supposed to stay on the bench so Joe could keep playing in his old age?

Walsh himself would've moved on from Montana when they did. Young was the better player at that point.

It was Camelot and Young stuck his nose all in it. Joe still had a couple of good years left - Young could have waited his turn, but forced the teams hand.

You're being crazy lol. Especially knowing we won a SB with Young. Joe is a legend but he was getting beat up. Going with Young for continuity at the position was the right move.

Certainly no reason to hate on Steve about it. He's a competitor. I love Dante but maybe if he had some of Steve's competitiveness he'd be hungry enough to get his starting(or even playing time) job back and take full advantage of his talent.

Wow..I've seen it all when it comes to this fanbase, Steve Young is an all-time great and in a lot of ways, has represented the 49ers a lot better than Montana in his post-49ers days. It's fine if you like Montana more, He did amazing things for the franchise that will more than likely never be replicated, but to say you hate someone who made the most of his opportunity after Montana got hurt vs NY, that also gave us tons of success no matter how many times he got knocked down with injuries ? Do you also hate Bill Walsh for signing Young when he thought Montana was finished after the 1986 season? Lol just wow. No offense, but that's a fan-card revoked type of action

Also it's been nearly 30 years.

Sorry, man - it's the way I feel.

Explains why you hate the all white jerseys.
