If he is recovered from his foot injury Taylor is as much of a lock as any of the other top 4 guys mentioned. He is not going to be traded and he is not going to be cut. Anyone who thinks that is just fooling themselves. As long as he is healthy he is going to make the team.

This is is draft profile from NFL.com:
Overview
Smallish slot target who operates with consistent play speed and soft hands, but lacks the physical/play traits to stand out in the crowd. He gets moderate separation against average competition but athletic slot cornerbacks with the ability to hound his release will be tough for him to beat. His punt return ability helps his cause but it's an uphill battle for a slot spot on a roster.
Weaknesses
Benefited from free releases in college. Gets bogged down when press length gets hands on him. Unable to run past tight man and separate vertically. One-note speed with lack of separation burst. Lacks length and ball skills to work with inaccurate passers.
Strengths
Quick to reach top gear. Can throw multiple route fakes at corners without altering route timing. Routes are concise and fluid. Play speed is consistent throughout the game. Tight turns offer early window for anticipatory throws.Soft, quiet hands make it look easy. Productive punt returner with some early elusiveness
The profile said that he would probably be a Priority Free Agent. Which is what he ended up being. The lack of OTA's and mini-camps are going to make things really tough on UDFA's this year. It will be difficult for them to spend any meaningful time with their position coaches or have an opportunity to stand out in practice which is generally what helps them get some quality reps in pre-season games. But who knows if there are even going to be pre-season games this year, or training camp for that matter. I suspect a lot of whatever time is available to teams this year is going to go into getting their top draft picks up to speed and making sure their returning vets are ready.
I think this is the last year of Taylor's contract. Because he was out all of last season I am pretty sure that the team will keep him this year and give him every chance to make a bid for an extension or a new contract next year because the coaches really seem to like him. Finke will have a chance to make the practice squad and if things don't work out with Taylor, for whatever reason, then Finke can be someone they can take a longer look at next season when, hopefully, the off season schedule will not be so screwed up.

Yeah that doesn't make me feel all warm and fuzzy. Probably going to be a mid season trade again this year.
Hopeful someone else steps up besides Deebo.

This team is super solid minus the IOL and WR.

People should understand an elite WR1 is a luxury, not a need. Julio Jones, Megatron, Michael Thomas, Davante Adams, Mike Evans, AJ Green, Antonio Brown. All of them have a combined of 0 rings. The only top WR who won recently, unfortunately, is Tyreek Hill.
An elite TE is much more important, as we see with Gronk, Kelce and Ertz who all have been big factors for their superbowl teams.
What's required is WR who are good enough at the role they are supposed to execute, no need for them to be elite at the position. The same goes for RB who are interchangeable as socks.
Problem last season is the starters were Pettis and Goodwin, who were not even good or average at their job, but damn awful. Taylor should've been the slot starter but wasn't healthy (him and Jimmy had great chemistry).

Agree that a true elite #1 WR is a desire not a need to be an effective passing offense. There aren't many secondaries that are three deep at CB. I think having three WRs with "#2 WR" capability, coupled with a TE that demands attention is just as effective as having a #1 WR and a few other serviceable guys.
Also, having a #1 elite WR means having to allot a nice chunk of cap space to, and the need to retain him at all costs. Having a bunch of #2s makes it easier to find another #2 to plug and play if one of the current guys leave.

Yup, if the likes of Brunskill or Mckivitz for the IOL and Auyik or Hurd at WR step up it would be huge. Good thing is they will all have their shots to shine, up to them now.

Personally, I like the group. I honestly am expecting to see a lot of RAC with that group. Classic WCO. Have a little speed in there. Not elite speed, but good enough speed where if defenses take a bad angle it will lead to a big gain. There also is a lot of physicality in there as well. I think we can put together some more games like the Green Bay or Minnesota game, in spite of defenses being determined the stop it. It's the kind of physicality that Mike Singletary or even Jim Harbaugh wanted, but even more dynamic in the overall play calling. It really is fun to watch.

Exactly right. The early 2000s teams failed because too much of the burden was on TO. I'd rather have 3 or 4 guys who can be productive.

Don't sleep on Travis Benjamin, he has the speed to take the top of defenses, KR/PR specialist, was a starter for both Browns and Chargers and has experienced in KS's system. He has a better chance to stick on the team than J.Matthews last year.

I think Taylor ends up on IR. I'd replace him with Finke or Jennings.
