Im as greedy as the 49ers have been on Dline.

I THINK we have Bosa, AA, Kinlaw, Ebukam, Givens, Hurst, Omenihu, and Ridgeway under contract. Hoping we sign Hyder and Willis. Perhaps Ebukam and Hyder are redundant but they likely can get Hyder for cheap. If they had both guys, I'd still want that speed edge rusher, but the addition of Hyder would mean they can go all in on Oline, corner, and safety on day 2 of the draft.

People may not like the moves but I think we have set ourselves up for landing a guy like Linderbaum or another coveted Oline.

Many feel we are further away than we really are. I think we left a lot of yards and TDs on the field. We have the weapons to be a top 5 offense. Hoping that pass protecting Olineman that can run block in our system so that Trey can have potentially 5 pass targets on any play. If we can do that, others can sign whoever they want- we'd be in position to score with them. No team is stopping Kittle used as a pass catcher, Aiyuk, Deebo, along with stopping our run game over 4 quarters.

I'm actually surprised people aren't talking about Ridgeway, he looks like a perfect fit at 1 tech on our defense.

I think he's going to be the next Koucerek success story. He's made for his scheme and he has the talent and I think Koucerek will help him put it together.

DDo we really need to bring kerry hyder $8m salary to the team? I feel like we've already got guys that can do what he does. We have ebukam key willis omenihu. Each of those guys can bring in four to six sacks a year. Why go out and get Haider? If we're going to bring an edge and has to be high quality not too expensive or we invest in a run-stuffer that can give us what Jones did. I would even consider a real hold the edge don't get fooled type player as opposed to a sack artist. We definitely could use a little more awareness when teams try to screen us or misdirect US. But another okay but not great rusher? Nah

I wonder if the team is excited about Omenihu as the next reclamation project and that's why they aren't making a move for one of the vet Edge players. Supposedly they made a play for Chandler Jones so they do see that an upgrade is needed. Need someone legit to make teams pay for doubling Bosa. I'm not sure Ebukam, Omenihu, and a rookie is enough.

Agreed. Based on what I was reading in MB mailbag last night, seems like due to the depth at ER in the draft they may be going that route with their 1st pick . Was hoping for a FA ER for the reasons you mentioned above, just not sure it's in the cards. Think it could be draft/Willis combo

Not sure why but I feel better about Omenihu than I do Jordan Willis (Willis is still a FA). PED-less Willis wasn't as effective but that might be because he was suspended half of 2021 and didn't get the practice reps. I wonder why Kerry Hyder isn't jumping at the bit to rejoin the scheme (SF wide9) that got him a nice contract and try to replicate his 2020 performance.

I think they really like Omenihu. He´s someone that always had a good pressure rate even with the Texans and mostly as an edge rusher. His second half against the Cowboys was impressive.
I would like them to draft a speed rusher in the draft if they can.

IF it's true that this draft has depth at edge and DLine, I'd really like them to draft a Edge and possibly another DT, or maybe even two edge rushers - considering how important that position is, and the 49ers have had historically injury issues at that particular position.

We better use #61 on a DE if we aren't going to go the free agency route. It amazes me how this front office doesn't see the importance of getting another pass rusher opposite Bosa. Bosa could get 25 sacks if you gave him help or he would help get another guy 15+ sacks if that player had elite pass rushing ability. Need to draft Nik Bonito. I would say Mafe but he will be gone before 61. Then draft Cross the safety in the 3rd RD and Marcus Jones the corner with the other 3rd RD pick. Right there you fill 3 big needs.

Hyder kind of changes the equation a bit. I wouldn't mind the 49ers going in with a best player available approach now with Hyder signed. Not saying I don't want a DLineman, but now they have flexibility to go after both a good OLineman and a good DLineman - - whatever the draft brings to them at pick number 61, 93 and 105. (and whatever Jimmy's trade could bring in)
