Soooo if we just retain Key, Jones, and Willis, extend Bosa, restructure Ebukam, and draft Ford's replacement, perhaps we don't need to bring in that FA opposite of Bosa.

This is already a 10 man line.

🙏 we can get a late 1st for Jimmy so we can address EDGE and CB early on. IF I had to pick between the two I'm going CB earliest if that's close to BPA especially considering how thin we are there

What other team can rotate a complete defensive line in and still play at a really high level? Aikman was chuckling about it a bit against Dallas. This has to be the biggest reason for the defense being able to finish out games. We got owned in TOP during the first half and still brought it.

YYes I remember that as well during that series when they brought out a completely fresh defensive line and one of the announcers mentioned it...

And they didn't miss a Beat

II agree with all the resigning and extending of current players

However I think Ford's replacement can come later in the draft or by way of free agency.

In case you haven't noticed the coach of this defensive line is extraordinary and seems to bring out the best in players

I think the draft and free agency Focus should be on the secondary and the offensive line in no particular order

IMHO

The way the D-Line played against the Rams and the Cowboys O-Lines at the most critical moment of the season was really impressive.
Agree!
Give Kocureck a 2nd rounder - in the 2022 draft! I bet he can make any second round DLinemen into a star! Omenihu was a 5th rounder!

Remember he still has Kinlaw to work with, as long as he stays health of course.

Game ball to the Defensive LIne!

Packers had 20 carries for a 3.4 yards average. 49ers controlled the line.

Absolutely! This defense - so says the professional talking heads - is the best playoff defense left in the playoffs. Holding that top of the line GB passing attack to 10 points Wow! i belive it. They also held the Cowboys to under 20.

Agree. The only thing ill add is that Kinlaw knee injury. The reconstruction of that knee was *extensive* and he's an unknown at this point due to that health uncertainty. That would be one reason to really scrutinize him medically and have a backup just in case he can't meet the 49ers new medical standards for players.

Great point about DJ Jones as a backup plan for Kinlaw!

Just took a quick glance at the KC vs Bungles AFCCG game. Bungles have a very similar defense to ours and they beat KC very recently. It's going to be interesting how KC deals with that Bungles pass rush. This 49er defensive line is getting better and better as they get more reps with each other. They look deep and dominating.

Samong Ekuban actually improved as well when Armstead was moved inside

I believe he's currently stands at 6 sacks this year including the playoffs

And more importantly he has not been injured

I hope they extend him

Agree. He's never had this many sacks in his career in one season. I credit that to Kocurek and his coaching. Key, Omenihu, and the rest are all hitting their career highs. I think they are still peaking. 5 sacks per game against some of the best OLines in football the last 3 games.
The media only talks about Bosa and sometimes AA, but this group is the heart of the defense by turning up the pass rush midseason and stopping the run. Having around 8 of these guys to rotate who are all very good to great players is a big reason why we're here.
So who's the weakest link of the dline? Besides Kinlaw and to an extent Hurst due to injury.
I wonder if Demeco is going to blitz STafford more often or will he use his standard 4 man front.
