Too rich for my blood. If the Saints trade him it will only be because he wants to be traded to a contender. That should lower his value so i'd offer a 6th for him.

Yeah this is the most realistic scenario

He's got a ridiculous dead money hit according to Lombardi. Saints don't have the space to take that on since they've been kicking the can down the road for years.

he's also been pretty bad this yr as a pass rusher. No thanks

If not Hendrickson I want Bradley Chubb, coming off a torn ACL he's got 4 sacks right now.

Chubb would be a good option. I'm not sure Miami would be willing to part with him if both McDaniel and Chris Grier, their GM, are trying to save their jobs though. It doesn't do them a lot of good to secure picks for the future if they're not going to be around anymore.

You know what happens if you don't ask?

too much hype around Simmons since Maiocco, I think it was him, dropped his name,.... but IMO this is quite unrealistic

he's contracted through 2027 (owning him some $20M in 2026 and $23M in 2027, something quite in accordance with his quality) which means that a huge package (involving at least a 1st) would be needed to get him,... and all of this would result in a complete U-turn from the way they decided to go this last offseason (get cheaper and younger with the draft, specially the IDL),... besides, I cannot see why Titans would trade him,... yeah they are trash and they are going to do nothing this season,... I don't think they were expecting anything different,... but they are building the team,.. and for this purpose they need some foundatiionalplayers,... Simmons is the only one the Titans have,... I wouldn't trade him,... unless there's a jaw-dropping offer

IMO a half-season rental is more realistic,... and going 4-1 (tied with the bests) and 3-0 in the divisison, I would go for it without hesitation
Bengals are 0-3, I think, without Burrow,... if they lost their 3 next games:
- at GB (which is very probable)
- Steelers (same)
- Jets
specially if they lose aginst the winless and hopeless Jets, they will very probably be a candidate for selling
Bengals didn't want to extend Hendrickson and, unless they have changed their minds, he wiil hit FA next offseason in which case the Bengals will get nothing in return (well, not nothing,... probably a 3rd in 2027 depending on the contract he gets in FA),... someone (I think it was Coach Yac) proposed a 3rd and a 4th for him,... taking into account that he will have a contract north of the $30M which is not viable for this team (while they have the edges for the next season in Bosa, Huff and Williams), they could let him go FA and get the 2027 3rd compensation pick

this 2027 3rd compensate for the 2026 4th payed for him,... all of which would result in paying just a 2026 3rd for a half seson rental,... taking into account that, for now, the niners are said to be given 3 4ths and a 5th in next year's draft, the team has more than enough draft capital to afford it,... I would do it
bengals get a 20026 3rd (instead of the 2027 3rd they would get in case they retained him and went to FA) and a 2026 4th

Wont take a first for Simmons. Teams are willing to trade guys with big cap hits if it makes more sense to them in their rebuild. It's why Christian got moved even though he was a foundational piece to Carolina.

Also the new GM didn't sign Simmons to that deal so you don't know his view on the player.
Bengals just traded for Flacco. They might think they still have a shot at the playoffs. Just probably means Hendrickson is unlikely.

this team is bleeding out at DL, Simmons is a monster and a guy I didn't even think about as far as trades go, he would destroy in this scheme imo.

Stats benefit from not playing much... I guess when he does play, he's kinda solid, but that's not a lot, now in the hospital bed again

I'm guessing that if he had to play full games, his play wouldn't look as good for the minutes he'd get... maybe benefiting from all the rest he gets from keeping the bench warm

Simmons would be dope for sure. Even carl Granderson and/or Cam Jordan would be a boost if Simmons doesn't come...

They do, but it goes both ways. Some show nothing with few snaps. YGM is a good player but is always hurt. Can't have someone with that salary available 40% of the time

Id love Jordan but the Saints won't do that. I'd take a Charles Omenihu, Samsun Ebukam, or peak Kerry Hyder type of player right now honestly. Getting two such players on cheap contracts would do wonders.

Flacco is a worse QB than Browning right now.

Absolutely. When we got a bunch of those dudes before, including Clelin Ferrel, Arden Key, Willis, etc., they all did pretty good and kinda revived their careers enough to get new and better contracts.

Maybe Saleh could get second/third tier guys play good enough to help us. It's not what we fans really want, but we might have to accept that because some of the guys we wish they'd get might not be moved.

They'll see how Samo, Gipson, Williams and Huff do in the next few games then evaluate from there I guess

Nah. Danielle Hunter.

Chubb would be my third choice after Hendrickson/Hunter but it's a long drop-off between Hunter and Chubb IMHO.
trading for hendrickson is the type of move that cripples a franchise down the line

trading major draft capital, and giving a 30m+ contract to someone who will turn 31 in december ? oh hell nah
