this team is bleeding out at DL, Simmons is a monster and a guy I didn't even think about as far as trades go, he would destroy in this scheme imo.

Stats benefit from not playing much... I guess when he does play, he's kinda solid, but that's not a lot, now in the hospital bed again

I'm guessing that if he had to play full games, his play wouldn't look as good for the minutes he'd get... maybe benefiting from all the rest he gets from keeping the bench warm

Simmons would be dope for sure. Even carl Granderson and/or Cam Jordan would be a boost if Simmons doesn't come...

My thing is if we have to trade a 3rd rd pick it needs to be for someone that isn't a 1 year rental. Need at least 2-3 years. These 1 year rentals in the past haven't worked out that well.
The one thing that we all can agree on is we need to do something and soon. What we have now is catastrophic patch work. God Bless RS for making it work as well as it has. Without him, we would have meltdown.

My hunch is that if they go to Tampa and win, then take care of biz at home vs Falcons, I don't think they'll be in a rush to get immediate help... they could be banking on the youngsters progressing well after each game, and going 6-1 after Falcons will probably have the coaches thinking that way.

I guess Trevis Gipson gets more playing time and if Davis can't go after getting the operation on his broken hand (already done and wearing a cast), Anderson or Valdez gets bumped up from PS. Davis will take a look at CJ West playing with cast on and try to convince coaches to let him play

It could take a while to add pieces if they keep winning. In their minds it might be like, "if it isn't broke, don't fix it" mentality. And once Mustapha gets back, the whole secondary might look a lot better which might take attention (needing to add a stud) away from the Dline

I believe the Dline / defense will improve each week and be a lot better in 6 weeks from now, but it could be much better (SB bound) by adding stud to Dline and getting a solid DB for insurance incase star player misses time

Sure they MIGHT get by the next two to three games with a win. But why not fix the problems while you can, before it gets worse. They're already down Robert Beal and Kalia Davis, they may not be much but that's still bodies you put out there. Get someone right away and be done with it!!! I hate this waiting around s**t just fix the team!!

The problem is teams may not be so willing to trade right now.

The Bengals are 2-3, sure, but they're watching the Ravens somehow be even worse and thinking "maybe just maybe we can still compete…" but if they're 3-6 come the trade deadline their willingness to trade might be much more open.
Speaking of trading for Simmons(Currently #1 pass rushing DT), the other 2 best pass rushing DTs so far are:

2 - Maliek Collins
3 - Javon Hargave

lol...

Wow, can you imagine how good a d-line would be if it had both of those guys?

no thanx,.... don't you remember how atrocious our d-line was against the run with them?

though I would have kept Collins,.... the team didn't save too much money releasing him and he could have been a good asset for clear passing downs and 3rd downs,... but signing Hardgrave was a mistake IMO,... too much money for a one-dimensional player

Banged up but still finding ways to win

too much hype around Simmons since Maiocco, I think it was him, dropped his name,.... but IMO this is quite unrealistic

he's contracted through 2027 (owning him some $20M in 2026 and $23M in 2027, something quite in accordance with his quality) which means that a huge package (involving at least a 1st) would be needed to get him,... and all of this would result in a complete U-turn from the way they decided to go this last offseason (get cheaper and younger with the draft, specially the IDL),... besides, I cannot see why Titans would trade him,... yeah they are trash and they are going to do nothing this season,... I don't think they were expecting anything different,... but they are building the team,.. and for this purpose they need some foundatiionalplayers,... Simmons is the only one the Titans have,... I wouldn't trade him,... unless there's a jaw-dropping offer

IMO a half-season rental is more realistic,... and going 4-1 (tied with the bests) and 3-0 in the divisison, I would go for it without hesitation
Bengals are 0-3, I think, without Burrow,... if they lost their 3 next games:
- at GB (which is very probable)
- Steelers (same)
- Jets
specially if they lose aginst the winless and hopeless Jets, they will very probably be a candidate for selling
Bengals didn't want to extend Hendrickson and, unless they have changed their minds, he wiil hit FA next offseason in which case the Bengals will get nothing in return (well, not nothing,... probably a 3rd in 2027 depending on the contract he gets in FA),... someone (I think it was Coach Yac) proposed a 3rd and a 4th for him,... taking into account that he will have a contract north of the $30M which is not viable for this team (while they have the edges for the next season in Bosa, Huff and Williams), they could let him go FA and get the 2027 3rd compensation pick

this 2027 3rd compensate for the 2026 4th payed for him,... all of which would result in paying just a 2026 3rd for a half seson rental,... taking into account that, for now, the niners are said to be given 3 4ths and a 5th in next year's draft, the team has more than enough draft capital to afford it,... I would do it
bengals get a 20026 3rd (instead of the 2027 3rd they would get in case they retained him and went to FA) and a 2026 4th

Hargrave must want himself another huge contract so he can get back to being irrelevant.
Sporting News suggested a trade for the Saints DE Cameron Jordan for a fourth round pick. He is no longer elite but he could contribute. Thoughts? Sounds like something that Lynch might do.

i think Trevis Gipson can be very good for us, I think he can be an Omenihu or Arden Key type player. 28 years old, has had success, and has played multiple positions. Very excited to see more of Gipson

Yeah this is the most realistic scenario
