Now that Beal is injured, again, maybe they'll finally bring up Gipson and see if any of what he showed in pre-season will translate to the regular season. Seems to me they ought to explore all of their options before the trade deadline to see if there is any help to be had on their own roster. I'd bring Valdez up for a game as well.

I'd much rather see Gipson then Beal or Sam O. He played well in the preseason and got pressure. I know it was against 2nd and 3rd teamers but he looked better than Beal and Sam O.

Even if the Bengals lose tonight, is Trey Hendrickson even realistically available? They probably see the Ravens floundering and think they can still compete (though the Steelers are hanging in there).

I still think Danielle Hunter is a more realistic target.

We shouldn't be making a move for either. Where is this team going even with Hendrickson or Hunter? A quick first round exit, assuming we make the playoffs?

This is true.

No sense in wasting cap space and draft capital just to get railed in the playoffs. This is not a playoff team anyway.
The sad reality is, they are going to lose the next 2 games and then walk into a buzz saw in Houston.

This really could be the year that we see Kyle get the axe. Not saying it's completely deserving, but if this team ends up several games under .500 with a last place schedule, the rumblings are going to be there.

Injuries or not, this team and coaching staff have proven that they just can't get it done.

One competitive loss and a 3-1 record and this is a serious comment on this site.

I need a vacation from this fanbase.

Lol if they won their other games while looking dominant I would agree but let's be real here. In all 3 wins the defense was giving up huge wide open plays and the opposing WRs just couldn't catch the ball. There was a missed TD in both the AZ and NO game where the WR had literally no one around them. The 49ers have been fortunate and lucky to be 3-0 prior to last week. If you think they have looked good I'm not sure what you have been watching.
The rookies had a good game tonight. Collins with a huge play at the goalline; CJ West had multiple clean wins. He is so close to getting his first sack.

Basically a bye week for us should give guys a chance to heal up.and get several back
Did yall notice Mykel exploded through the o line? He forced Williams to the right and the rest of the guys were able to finish it off

Sure is looking like this revamped D line gonna be special. I still think we need to add an edge to replace Bosa this year, pass rush leaves a lot to be desired. But the 2 plays that won the game came from our interior D line. SO pissed we lost Bosa for the year….. Od do whatever it takes to get Hendrickson.

I mean if they looked like they were going to be special Stafford wouldn't have had all to throw on all of his drop backs..
Niners defense was on the field for 40 minutes !!! Rams 26 mins.

D line was gassed by out. Shanahan has to figure out a way not to lose the TOP battle that badly.

Check the injury list. SMDH.
Lambs had a healthy squad all around minus one or two starters, but they had all their key weapons and defense was not missing anyone... that being said, Niners limped in and out of that game with a win and played those dudes hard as any other team the Lambs played so far with a lot of our scrubs.

The Dline got some pressure and came real close on several snaps... the score / win tells me that even the Dline done just enough to HELP seal a victory. Yes, it doesn't seem sustainable to go on like this, they need to add a stud to go with Huff / Williams. They probably have been working on that, but it's still early for teams to consider dumping players... after going 0-5 / 0-6 teams could really start to consider and answer calls (from us).

Hopefully Gipson can be a solid rotational piece. Get rid of Grossman, he's hurt 90% of the time and doesn't do much of anything. They need to bring up Valdez, Anderson and/or bring back JJ now that Davis is hurt AGAIN.
Do we even have a pass rusher at this point? Huff, maybe West?
No and afraid nobody will reach double digit sack numbers on the D line.

If they had guys who could get to the QB the Rams game is over in regulation and no Rams comeback.

Davis is solid depth but can be had for cheap due to that injury history.
They're gonna have to make some moves asap
