Please go get Hendrickson or whoever that can help with the pass rush.

I like Williams, but I have keyed in on him during each game. He is slow off the snap. Usually the last guy to move. Hope he gets better.

The DL looked slow off the LOS. They couldn't stop the run to save their lives and Lawrence had all day to throw the ball (and still looked bad).

We're in big trouble without Bosa.

While losing Bosa is a huge blow, I'll suggest that it looks to me like we're having the same problem with our DTs as last year. Davis is playing fine but he needs help. It'll be good to get West back, he looks like he's going to develop into a fine player. Fingers crossed that Collins can get the finesse side of his game figured out. It's a lot harder when you're suddenly not way stronger and way bigger than the other guys.

Facts.

On first downs it feels like this defense gives up 6-7 yards every time. Teams are in 2nd and medium or second and short most of the time.
The defense doesn't seem to tighten up until teams are at mid field to the 40 yd line, or until the game is on the line late in the game.

Its that soft ass zone that gives up underneath stuff. They expect Fred and Dee to rally up and stop the play. A lot those passes are leading to an easy 6/7 yards on first down like you said. They do seem tighten up later in games. They played a ton of off coverage yesterday. I expect the same against the Rams b/c of their wr core.
I was embarressed watching our defense play yesterday. They made some good plays, especially our LB's but short of that unit the rest stunk up the joint. Jacksonville was one of the worst defenses in the NFL last season and they were the bully on the field. Turn around in one season from one of the worst to currently prbably the best. What exactly has Saleh done to make the D better? Looks similar to last year, soft and easy to move the ball on.

Even if the Bengals lose tonight, is Trey Hendrickson even realistically available? They probably see the Ravens floundering and think they can still compete (though the Steelers are hanging in there).

I still think Danielle Hunter is a more realistic target.

We shouldn't be making a move for either. Where is this team going even with Hendrickson or Hunter? A quick first round exit, assuming we make the playoffs?

I disagree with that logic. If you are a playoff caliber team you should absolutely make a move. I'm not talking about mortgaging your future kind of move but a move nevertheless. Anything can happen in the playoffs So many Super Bowls have been won bc teams get hot going into the playoffs.

Some interesting stats:
26 out of 51 Super Bowls the underdog have won
7 teams have won with a .500 record or less
Team is in deep s**t if this is what we can expect from the DL without bosa. Disgusting

Still too soon to write off the team. People were writing off KC and now they're looking good again. The Packers were looking like the team to beat after 2 weeks. Now not so much. Terams are all trying to find their groove early in the year. Teams like the Niners that have a lot of players missing because of injuries are going to struggle a little more. On defense they have a lot of new faces that arte still learning and now they lost their best D lineman. Lot's of adjustments need to be made.

You can't use 49ers D-line and KC as a comparison. It's not like the 49ers have a healthy Chris Jones.

This is true.

No sense in wasting cap space and draft capital just to get railed in the playoffs. This is not a playoff team anyway.
The sad reality is, they are going to lose the next 2 games and then walk into a buzz saw in Houston.

This really could be the year that we see Kyle get the axe. Not saying it's completely deserving, but if this team ends up several games under .500 with a last place schedule, the rumblings are going to be there.

Injuries or not, this team and coaching staff have proven that they just can't get it done.
How Harbonehead / Chargers lost to Dart and DaBoll I was hoping Giants keep losing then think about dumping players (maybe Thibs to help our Dline) after week 5 or 6 Now the Giants think they can salvage their season until reality hits in a few more weeks.

We might not be able to find a team (maybe Titans or Saints) to deal with for another couple weeks, but the season is definitely young and we still have a good shot at the playoffs.

Lambs and Tampa Bay both have weak pass protection so, if Saleh can figure s**t out maybe we win Thursday... we need the defense clicking because Shennanigans, the oline and second coming of Jimmy G (BP) looking bleak
Now that Beal is injured, again, maybe they'll finally bring up Gipson and see if any of what he showed in pre-season will translate to the regular season. Seems to me they ought to explore all of their options before the trade deadline to see if there is any help to be had on their own roster. I'd bring Valdez up for a game as well.

One competitive loss and a 3-1 record and this is a serious comment on this site.

I need a vacation from this fanbase.
