Arizona right now has 20 OL on the roster with no clue who would start inside. Their tackles are relatively decent (slightly below average starting tackles) but their IOL is projected to play at an injured Richburg level. And their reinforcement of the OL consists of a pair of 6/7-rounders and a PS journeyman who was with the niners a bit back (Lauderdale).
Will be interesting to see how long Murray would last. We will face them Week 9.

WR: Even
QB: 49ers
TEs: 49ers
RBs: 49ers
Oline: 49ers (our starters are better, our depth is a mystery)
I can't wait for 49ers to send Larry into retirement..he's past due

Um how are our receivers even with theirs? I agree Pettis/Kirk, Deebo/Isabella & Hurd/Butler all appear to be washes right now but aren't you forgetting about one person? They have Fitz, one of the best all time. Their receiving core is better.Originally posted by LVJay:WR: Even

It's clear that Kyle is building an offense with unique pieces, while AZ is building an offense with the best talent available. By utilizing guys with unique talents, Kyle has the potential to break the mold. But he also runs the risk of falling in his face trying to outsmart tried and true team building. I think this is a fascinating study in philosophy and even if I weren't a 9er fan I'd be rooting for the guy thinking outside the box. Hope it works out for our offense.
Great insight. I agree with your take. To break the mold successfully you really need to identify the right out of the box players.
After two years of draft and FA, I don't give KS the benefit of the doubt on this though. Beathard, Joe Williams, etc end up being unsuccessful and so I figure this draft will be viewed as having several reaches.
I hope I'm wrong.

That's true, but I was comparing the list (before cuts)... throw in Mathews, Bourne, Taylor and James. Also, I'm thinking scheme and continuity. Shanny, JG and the oline have experience with most of our guys so the chemistry out balances what slight advantage they may have when comparing individuals. Big picture per say....

The #3 CB Alford is a good CB. Or maybe Budda Baker, pro bowler.
Why do you speak like Pettis is a threat? In 4 years of college and 1 year in the NFL, mans never had 1000 yards receiving.
Isabella had 1,680 in 12 games. Hes our 3rd WR by the way, maybe 4th, I dunno

What's interesting is that while a lot of people in here are Isabella/Butler fans, Daniel Jeremiah did not like him as a prospect, Greg Gabriel of PFW, former Bears scouting director is adamant that he will NOT be good, and similarly DJ had a low grade on Butler because of the inconsistent hands.
All in all most scouts had this as a below avg WR class.

The difference between our WR and Cards...
Ours get the ball in stride. Theirs look for Murray and adjust their routes.

As of right now you have to give the Cards the slight nod at WR. Kirk and Pettis both showed a lot as rookies. After that it's Goodwin v Fitz and that's easily Cards advantage.
No one knows what the rookies will end up being. Plenty of highly touted WRs have been bad and plenty of undrafted WRs have been great. I believe in Deebo/Hurd but until TC any take on them being better than the similarly touted Cards rookies is just bias and wishful thinking.
