Reunion: The #49ers are signing back one of their former stars, agreeing to terms with LB Dre Greenlaw, sources say.The former SF draft pick spent last season with the #Broncos and now returns on a 1-year, $7.5M deal. pic.twitter.com/bCfAipbWPl— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) March 12, 2026LB Dre Greenlaw6-foot, 230High-impact tone-setter and run game eraser. Wins with elite block destruction and explosive contact power; an all-out stacked linebacker who forces opposing players to keep their heads on a swivel. While still a violent thumper who senses cutbacks… pic.twitter.com/wE5TBgJQkR— Erik Turner Cover 1 (@ErikJTurner) March 10, 2026

So happy to see Dre back on the team. He's such a good LB.

Lol love Dre

Greenlaw signed a three-year deal with Denver before the 2025 season, but missed time with a quad injury and due to a suspension before being released in March. Greenlaw said Payton never spoke to him in the final weeks of the season and that the team did not inform him of his release personally, which led to him having some extra motivation for the game.

"The disrespect," Greenlaw said. "He couldn't be man to man and call my phone and say, 'We're going to cut you.'"

F**k him Dre!!! Welcome back
